The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 5

Eli Brummett RHP / Oliver Springs High School, TN / Eli Brummet (2025, Oliver Springs)  would finish with a .727 batting average on the week with 11 hits,  5 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 10 RBI's with 7 runs scored. On the pitching side, he would go 1-0 on the week with a 7 inning complete game giving up only 4 hits, 0ER's with 9 K's to just 3 BB's.

Lane Brown OF / LHP / Dickson County, TN / 2026 Lane Brown (2026, Dickson Co) In a 1-0 Loss at Rossview, Lane Brown went 6 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB with 9 K’s. He has been solid every outing so far in 2025 and is currently 2-2 on the mound in 20. 2 innings pitched, giving up just 11 hits, 1 ER, 11 BB to 39 K’s with a .34 ERA and .147 OBA.

Eli Koch LHP / OF / Sevier County High School, TN / 2025 Eli Koch (2025, Sevier County) in 3 Games, Eli Koch would go 9/13 finishing with a .692 avg, .714 OBP, 1.484 OPS, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 7 R, 1 SB. For the season he is batting .476 avg, with a .506 OBP, 1.128 OPS, .622 SLG that includes 7 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 25 RBI's, 26 runs scored, while also drawing 4 BB to just 7 K's He also currently has 7 SB.

Easton Sullivan C / Greenfield, TN / 2026 Easton Sullivan (2026, Greenfield) 4/4 with 4 walks / 13 K's in six innings that included no earned runs. On the season, he carries a .545 batting average, while also improving to 4-0 on the mound with 51 K's and ERA of .545.

Will Edwards RHP / 3B / Greenfield School, TN / 2027 Will Edwards (2027, Greenfield) 3/6 with a home run and 6 RBI's at the plate. On the mound for the week, he would go 1-0 with 11 K's. On the season, he is hitting .448 with 18 RBI's, while also 4-0 on the mound with 38 K's and an ERA of 2.2.

Jax Sparks SS / RHP / Hardin Valley Academy, TN / 2026 Jax Sparks (2026, Hardin Valley) The former 2-time Prep Baseball Future Gamer and Tennessee Tech commit has been lights out at the plate hitting .615 that included 3 Doubles, 4 RBI, and a 1.436 OPS.

Chase Gockenbach 3B / RHP / LAKEWAY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, TN / 2028 Chase's Gockenbach (2028, Lakeway Christian) Pitching - 7 innings no runs, 4 hits, 1 walk to 11 strike outs with 78% strikes thrown. Hitting - 474 Avg. 1289 OPS, 789 SLG, 9 hits 5 singles, 3 doubles, 1 HR, 6 RBI's, and 4 Runs scored.

Davis Peralta C / OF / LAKEWAY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY-LAKEWAY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, TN / 2025 Davis Peralta-Lawson (2025, Lakeway Christian) For the week, the uncommitted senior would hit .500 with a .1172 OPS, .643 Slugging with 7 hits, 2 doubles, 5 RBI's, 2 Runs scored and 2 stolen bases.

Bryson Allen SS / 2B / LAKEWAY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, TN / 2026 For the week, Allen would hit .462 with a .1332 OPS, .769 SLG that included 6 hits, 1 double, 1 HR, 8 RBI's with 5 runs scored, while finishing a perfect 2 for 2 on stolen bases.

Hudson Ford 1B / 3B / LAKEWAY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, TN / 2026 The uncommited junior would hit .500 on the week with a .1277 OPS, .714 SLG with 7 hits, 1 HR, 6 RBI's and 1 run scored. He would also have a stolen bag.

Kole Carter C / 3B / Cumberland Gap, TN / 2028 Kole Carter (2028,Cumberland Gap) : Had a .625 avg this week with a .750 OBP while scoring 7 R and collecting 7 RBIs.

Tate Murphy 2B / OF / Cumberland Gap, TN / 2025 Tate Murphy (2025, Cumberland Gap) Had a .625 avg with a HR while scoring 7 R and collecting 5 RBI's.

Austin Grant LHP / 1B / Powell, TN / 2025 Austin Grant (2025, Powell) The uncommitted senior arm would throw his 1st No-Hitter of the season in a complete 7 Inning game, where he would give up only 1 walk, while racking up 11 K’s.

KJ Anderson C / 3B / Cookeville, TN / 2027 KJ Anderson (2027, Cookeville) 7-11 with 2 HR’s, 2 triples and 1 double. He would also collect 5 RBI’s, 7 runs scored with 3 stolen bases. He would finish the week hitting .636 with a 1.636 SLG, .667 OBS and a 2.330 OPS.

Jackson Roberts RHP / Cookeville, TN / 2025 Jackson Roberts (2025,Cookeville) The uncommitted arm would pitch 5 innings on the week with 0 runs given up. He would only surrender 3 hits, while racking up 10 K’s in a win.

DJ Lowery OF / SS / Knoxville Catholic High School, TN / 2027 DJ Lowery (2027, Knox Catholic) The reigning POTW would go 6-10 with 1 double, 4 HR’s with 10 RBI’s, while also scoring 7 runs, finishing the week hitting .600
