Unsigned Senior Spotlight: INF Xaviah Patch
April 8, 2025
The winter schedule has come to a close as players and players are fully into the regular season swing. The 2025 preseason showcase schedule got started in January with the Utah Preseason ID that featured roughly 60 prospects. We follow up the Preseason ID with our marquee event ahead of the HS season, the prestigeous Utah Preseason All-State that featured roughly 130 prospects with a large crop of the top talent in the State participating.
Our staff had eyes on over 190 players these past couple months and with the season finally here, there is still a ton of quality uncommitted talent still on the board in Utah's senior class. Over the next couple weeks, our staff will begin highlighting some of these names who need to be on the radar of college coaches looking to roundout their 2025 class.
We continue our Top Uncommitted Senior Spotlight Series with '25 INF Xaviah Patch of Stansbury HS. Patch was a Future Games participant back in 2023 and has steadily risen since then, now ranked as the No. 42 prospect in the State and is a top unsigned infielder in the State.

Scouting Report
Found this young man because of a D1 dad’s recommendation from his HS, along with absurd hitting stats. Went to see XPatch on Senior Day at an opposing HS and came away impressed enough to extend a Top Prospect and Future Games invites. A .505 hitter as a sophomore and with a rhythmic balance stance, coupled with a sweet LH stroke and plate/zone discipline, makes this kid's potential ceiling of a nationally ranked JC/high D2 or mid-major D1 caliber talent. Fluid actions defensively at 3B with educated feet, along with a high contact barrel rate, bodes well at the next level. Already talking to 3 mid major D1 programs.
A lean wiry athletic LHH 3B with a frame to add quality weight and add strength with a strong and dedicated weight program to tap into his latent power and swing plane to produce even added distance and carry to a 2B’s type approach to the gaps. “X Patch” had one of the better HS seasons in the state as far as producing some “base” numbers with the base hit, batting avg and 2B’s. A high contact type approach with a low ball approach to hit with a flat bat through the zone with an inside out/long through and full wrapped finish behind the back shoulder. Drives the ball on a line with backspin to all fields, and finds the barrel often w/48 base hits this past spring. One of the better overall hitters in the 2024 class, earning a Future Games spot at LakePoint this next week. Defensively shows the soft hands and side to side agility to stick at the hot corner, yet needs to get his feet set and in sync to utilize his fringy arm, to play even better and add carry. Can’t wait to see what he does against quality age appropriate pitching in Atlanta, to get a better gauge on his instincts and baseball IQ.
