Arkansas Class of 2027 Rankings Update: Winter Edition
April 2, 2025
As the spring season begins, the Prep Baseball Arkansas staff has once again updated the state’s 2027 rankings. We have one of our largest updates to date after our loaded preseason showcase season. We saw over 100 talented sophomores expanding our list from 30 to 60 players with the addition of over 30 names.
It is important to note in an update this large, there are players that may decline in total rank even with improvement and passing some peers simply due to the number of names added. For an in-depth look at how we put our rankings together, click HERE.
Notable changes to these rankings include a handful of prolific risers and 30 newcomers in the list.

THE TOP 10
The latest rankings update brings some notable movement in the top 10, with two new names making their debut.
The top five remains unchanged, led by C Ty Holt (Greenwood) at No. 1, followed by INF Sawyer Wilson (Benton), OF Jackson Teutsch (Magnolia), C Luke Weatherley (Jonesboro), and C Cannon Burks (Catholic) rounding out spots 2-5.
The first newcomer in the rankings—and the top 10—is 1B Luke Edwards (Pulaski Academy), who enters at No. 6. A physically imposing presence at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Edwards turned heads at the Central Arkansas Preseason ID and Arkansas Preseason All-State this winter. His powerful left-handed swing generated easy pop, highlighted by a peak exit velocity of 99.7 mph. With his natural strength and offensive upside, Edwards has the chance to be a middle of the order bat at the next level.

INF Jeremiah Jones (Bentonville West) also cracks the top 10, climbing six spots to No. 7. The quick-twitch, 5-foot-9, 170-pound athlete showcased a right-handed swing with added polish at the Arkansas Preseason All-State while flashing his elite, game-changing 6.60 speed.

Rounding out the top 10 are a trio of infielders: Zayne Walker (Elkins), Brooks Baxendale (Greenland), and Haden Hall (Little Rock Christian).
RISERS AND NEWCOMERS
INF Will Findley (Valley View) climbs three spots in this update, now landing at No. 13. A dynamic two-way prospect with the ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball, Findley impressed at the Arkansas Preseason All-State in February. At the plate, he showcased a simple, repeatable swing, while on the mound, he displayed effortless arm strength, topping out at 86 mph with his fastball. With a well-commanded three-pitch mix and room for more to come as he adds strength, Findley’s stock continues to rise.

A standout performer at the Central Arkansas Preseason ID in January, INF/RHP Thomas George (North Little Rock) makes his debut in our rankings at No. 14. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound athlete showcased his two-way potential, delivering a 97 mph exit velocity at the plate while sitting 84-86 mph with his fastball and unleashing a 90 mph rocket across the infield. With an impressive blend of power and arm strength, George is a rising name to know in this class.

Spots 21-25 welcome five new faces in this update, highlighted by INF Ethan Bales (Brookland) and Jonesboro outfielders Kameron Davis and Jaxson Shive, who land at No. 21, 22, and 23, respectively, following standout performances at the Arkansas Preseason All-State.
Bales showcased his athleticism with a 6.81 60-yard dash and a 91.9 mph exit velocity, while Davis turned heads with a blazing 6.67 60 and an 88.8 mph peak exit velocity. Shive displayed his two-way potential, recording a 93 mph exit velocity at the plate while also commanding a three-pitch mix on the mound, with more velocity on the way.
Two prospects make their rankings debut after standout performances at the Northwest Arkansas Preseason ID in February. INF/OF Cole Kelly (Bentonville) enters at No. 24, while RHP Nathan Wanamaker (Conway) claims the No. 25 spot after running his fastball up to 83.6 mph and showcasing advanced feel for a strong changeup, slider, and sinker mix. At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Wanamaker’s long, projectable frame presents significant upside, with room to add strength and velocity as he continues to develop.
