Oklahoma Class of 2028 Rankings Update: Winter Edition

As the spring season begins, the Prep Baseball Oklahoma staff has once again updated the state’s 2028 rankings. Following our preseason showcase season, we have continued to update and expand our ranks as the list of freshmen now reaches 35 players.
It is important to note, as the rankings continue to expand with the influx of so many new players, there are players that may decline in total rank even with improvement and passing peers. For an in-depth look at how we put our rankings together, click HERE.

RISERS AND NEWCOMERS

Bradley Hastings SS / RHP / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 3
Hastings attended the Tulsa Preseason ID and showed to be a difference maker in all parts of his game. Offensively, the Bishop Kelley product flashed advanced metrics pre and post impact using long levers that project for extra base hits and future power potential. The switch hitter worked up to a 92.2 mph exit velocity but presently worked head-high line drives throughout all parts of the yard. Defensively, he was sure handed and was up to 88 mph across the infield. Finally, on the mound Hastings was up to 85 mph with a max spin of 2590 RPMs while mixing in a slider with as high as 2667 RPMs. He showed big upside as well as advanced present ability for the still young 2028. |

Zayden Khalil 3B / OF / Yukon, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 2
Khalil flashed continued improvement throughout all facets of his game as he continued to flash the big offensive upside with a combination of power and speed. At the Preseason All State event, he ran a 6.94 60 while also maxing out at a 97.2 mph Exit Velocity which paced the event for the 2028 class. The Yukon freshman offers exciting upside in various phases and showed that he has the tools to impact the game in a variety of ways. |

Jasper Reid OF / RHP / Broken Arrow, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 3
Reid has continued to improve in all phases as he set numerous personal bests at the Preseason All State event over the winter. He registered his best pre and post impact metrics with the bat as he had career bests in bat speed at 74.4 mph, rotational acceleration at 11.5g, and a 93.3 mph Exit Velocity from a still-developing wiry frame. He also flashed improved strength registering 84 mph from the outfield and working his fastball up to 81.5 mph on the bump. The Broken Arrow freshman’s work throughout the winter was apparent as his game continues to develop and show more polish. |

Tripp Thomas 3B / OF / Heritage Hall, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 4
Thomas is a physically imposing freshman at Heritage Hall that we had the opportunity to see at the Preseason All State event. He shows strength and bat speed from a big 6’1” frame. He showed legitimate double and extra base hit potential with comfort elevating balls with backspin to the pull side. Further, Thomas hopped on the mound and showed present ability to land multiple pitches in the zone with a fastball working in the low 80s. |

Blaine Hollingshead OF / LHP / Piedmont, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 5
Hollingshead flashed legit 2-way upside throughout our look at him at the Preseason All State event in February. The right handed hitter was discipline with a mature approach working from alley to alley. The well-rounded game was on full display as he ran a 7.09 60, clocked 82 mph from the outfield, and also showed upside on the mound with command of a three-pitch mix and fastball up to 81.6 mph. The Piedmont product is a name to know and continue following with upside in all parts of his game. |

Creed Kardokus 2B / SS / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 1
Kardokus attended the Preseason All State event and showed a steady foundation across the board. The left handed hitting infielder showcased a gap to gap approach with the ability to control the barrel. The approach shows to be extremely mature with good direction through the middle of the field. On the infield, he is sure handed, catching the baseball out front with athleticism. As he continues to develop physically, his game will continue to move to another level as well. |

Parker Allen SS / 2B / Edmond North, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 5
Allen attended the OKC Preseason ID this winter and showed advanced actions on the infield. The lean framed infielder is an easy, athletic mover that showed comfort moving in all directions and caught the ball out front as well as showed the ability to play one handed adding to his athleticism. Offensively, it’s a simple move attacking balls out front with good direction and is able to stay closed for an extended period of time. As he continues to develop physically, he’ll continue to add more power and turn singles into extra base hits. |

Carson Green C / 3B / Davis High School, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 6
Green showed real upside as a young backstop with advanced feel and ability working beneath the baseball in his receiving. A still developing frame, his timing was really sound catching bullpens and was able to make adjustments from guy to guy on the mound. Offensively, he showcased a sound approach and sprayed line drives from alley to alley cross-bodying balls. With continued physical development, he could produce extra base hits with an already developed approach. |
