2025 PREP BASEBALL MINNESOTA DIAMOND NOTES 💎 WEEK 1

All players are submitted weekly by their high school coaches. 
Names in alphabetical order.

Aaden Westerbur  2026 Duluth Marshall In one game, 1-for-3, 2B, and 2 RBI
Andrew Gette 2026 Mounds View Shutout win vs Stillwater (5 IP, 3 H, 9 K, 0 ER)
Also added a 2B and 2 RBIs on the week offensively
Blake Eckerle 2025 White Bear Lake Over two games Blake is 4-for-5 with 8 plate appearances. He is batting .800, has 2 doubles and 1 triple, with 5 RBI. He also pitched 5 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 11.
Brandon Cooper 2025 Annandale  Brandon Cooper went 4-4 with a walk in 5 plate appearances in his first game back since his sophomore year after injury. 
Brandon Lund 2025 Farmington Brandon pitched 7 innings, giving up 0 earned runs, in a 3-2 victory over New Prague on Friday. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1, while striking out 7. He also picked up 2 of the team's 3 hits, including the walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th to win it for the Tigers.
Brayden Simones 2025 Sartell 4.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 8 Ks in win over Duluth East
Brendan Mademann 2027 Eagan W vs Lakeville North: 7.2 IP, 0 BB, 10 K, 2 H
Caden Willmsen 2025 Sibley East We are in 3-1, in part because our ace (Willmsen) threw a complete game shutout against LCWM. His final line was: 7 IP, 0 R, 13 K, 2 H, 1 BB. He was also 7-for-11 at the plate, with 4 runs scored, a double, 4 RBI, 3 walks, and 1 SB. His OPS for the week was 1.461.
Carson Walker 2025 Lakeville South

Carson pitched a complete game on Wednesday against Burnsville giving up only 2 hits.  Striking out 12 batters while only allowing 3 walks over 7 innings of work for the win.

Carson also hit .700 on the week: 12PA, 10AB, 5 singles and 2 doubles with 5 RBI's.

Carter Gwost 2025 Little Falls In our opening game last week vs. Detroit Lakes, Carter started on the mound and got the win. He pitched 4 innings, striking out 11. He allowed two balls to be put in play, and both were "swinging bunts" along the 3rd base line, one resulting in the one hit he gave up. At the plate he went 3-for-4 with two HR and a double.
Cason Carter 2026 Richfield 4 hits, 1 Double, 3 Runs. 1.250 OPS
4 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs
Chase Gerdts 2026 JWP Chase batted .273. with 9 RBIs. However, this past Saturday (4/12) he accounted for all 7 runs. We won 7-3 vs. AC/GE. He had a 3-run home run, base-clearing triple, and scored the 7th run. He pitched against WEM 4/10 and pitched 6 innings, with 4 H, 2 ER, 4 BB and 10 K. Unfortunately he did not get the win. 
Clark Traxler-Menz 2025 Mpls Edison In 2 games Clark has dominated offensively batting .600 with 2 doubles, a home run with 2 RBI, a walk and an HBP. He currently has a slugging % of 1.600, OPS of 2.314, and an OBP .714. He has also thrown out two baserunners from behind the plate against two very good teams in Orono and Delano.
Connor Pearce 2025 Esko Connor Pearce went 3-8 in our weekend sweep of Fairmont and Luverne. This included a solo HR and a game tying RBI single in the 7th against Luverne.  Additionally, Connor pitched a clean 9 pitch 7th inning in the Fairmont game and then followed that up with a complete game against Luverne.
Derek Schlomann 2025 Blaine .571 on the week, .750 OBP, with 3 SB.
Dominic Patnode 2025 Princeton Dominic Patnode (SR, 1B/3B) has started the year off in a great way leading the Tigers to a 3-1 start.  He had 8 hits in 12 AB's, with 2 BB and 2 HBP.  He has also scored 5 runs over the 4 games.  Batting Average of 667, 750 OBP, OPS of 1.417.  He has also played great defense on the corners.
Drew Peters 2026 La Crescent-Hokah At Mayo Field against Rochester Lourdes, Drew threw a complete game, scattering 5 hits and giving up only 1 ER in a 5-1 victory.
Eric Bermea 2025 Hayfield Eric led Hayfield to a 3-1 record over their first week of games, which included wins over Cherry and Ely.  Eric was 2-0 on the mound last week with a complete game 2-hitter vs JWP on Tuesday and a complete game 5-hitter vs Ely on Saturday. Over the two starts he only gave up two runs, one earned run, with 9 K's, and picked off two base runners. At the plate, Eric hit .615 (8-13), with two 2B, 7 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 3 walks. 
Gabe Nathe 2025 Providence Academy Big contributor in both of our wins this week against two good programs, Southwest Christian and Holy Family. 2-for-6, 2 RBIs, 2 BBs, .500 OBP, 2 stolen bases. 
Garrett Wheeler 2026 Minnetonka Garrett went 5-for-6, 2 BB, 3 runs scored, recorded a save in 2/3 of an inning. 
Gavin Griffin 2027 Perham

.714 BA, 778 OBP, 2.35 OPS, 1.57 Slug - 5-for-7 with 3 triples, 4 R, 2 SB, 3RBI and BB

vs DLS 3-for-3, 2 singles and triple, 2 R, RBI, BB, SB
vs Minnehaha 2-for-4 2 triples, 2 RBI, 3R, SB

Hudson Ohm 2026 Zumbrota Mazeppa Hudson Ohm got the win vs the Stewartville Tigers last Thursday. He threw 5 innings, striking out 14 batters, Gave up 0 hits, had 0 walks, and hit 1 batter.  
Hunter Engelke 2026 Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg In 4 games last week, Hunter went 6-for-12 in 15 PA with 2 doubles, 4 singles. He had 2 games with 3 RBIs and 8 total RBIs for the week. He also scored 5 runs and was walked 3 times. Only 1 strike out. He also pitched one game going 4 innings, got the win, no hits allowed, 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Hunter started off the year hot, bringing quality at-bats each time he stepped up to the plate. He barreled up every hit hard and in turn was a great asset to our team going 3-1 last week.
Isaac Aud 2025 Mound-Westonka Isaac threw 7 innings vs. Benilde on 4/11, surrendering only 5 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run on a total of 80 pitches over the 7 innings. 
Jac Wright 2025 Saint Thomas Academy In Wednesday's 5-1 win at Hastings, Jac Wright pitched 5 innings, allowing zero earned runs, zero walks, and striking out 14 of the 21 batters he faced.
Jack Meyers 2025 Cannon Falls Complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts vs Rochester Lourdes Friday April 11.
Jackson Kolb 2027 White Bear Lake Jackson pitched 4.1 innings against East Ridge giving up 2 hits and striking out 10.
Jayden Anderson 2025 Richfield 6 hits, double, 2 triples, 2.429 OPS, 4 RBI, 4 Runs, 1 SB
Josh Wilson 2026 Providence Academy Starting pitcher in our win vs. Holy Family. 5 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 5 Strikeouts. Winning pitcher of record. 
Keaton Landowski 2026 Sartell 3-for-5, 1 2B, 5 RBI, 2 BB, and 1 RBI in wins over St. Cloud and Duluth East
Kyle Hayes 2026 Spring Lake Park Through three games, Kyle has made a major impact on both sides of the ball. He's batting an impressive .556, with three singles, a double, and a memorable first varsity hit—a clutch home run. Leading the team with 4 RBI and adding a stolen base, he's been a consistent offensive force. Defensively, he's been a rock at third base, making key plays and anchoring the infield. 
Liam Kruse 2025 Marshall In 4 games played:
Pitching: He is 2-0 to start the year with 6 innings pitched 10 strikeouts and 0.00 ERA.
Hitting: .545 AVG (6-11), .615 OBP, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 8 RBI and 3 SB's.  
Logan Rudningen 2025 Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg In 4 games last week Logan hit .583 going 7-for-12 with 1 double and 6 singles. He collected 5 RBIs including a game with 4 RBIs for a total of 5 for the week. In addition he scored 6 runs and had 3 walks and 4 stolen bases.
Luke Sems 2025 Pine Island Luke went 1-0 (2-0 on the season 16 Ks to 0 BB) on the mound with 0 R, 3 H, 8 Ks and 0 BB. At the plate he hit 3 HRs, including a grand slam and 3 R HR (7 RBI) in the same game. He went 5-13 on the week with 3 HR, a triple, 15 RBI, and 4 runs scored.
Max Niedfeldt 2026 La Crescent-Hokah In Max's first career varsity start on the bump, he threw a complete game 2-hit shutout against Lewiston. He struck out 7 and walked 3.
Nate Colling 2025 Simley East We're off to a 3-1 start, fueled in large part by our leadoff hitter (Colling) going 7 for 11, with 4 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 2 RBIs, with 1 SB. Colling has also thrown out 3-out-5 base stealers behind the dish.
Nick Terhaar 2025 Proctor 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 HR and 6 RBI, 4 IP, 10 K, 2 Hits and 0 runs allowed in an 11-1 win against Mesabi East.
Nolan Boeckermann 2025 Holdingford Last week Nolan was 5-for-7 (.714) at the plate with a double. He recorded double, 2 RBI, a HBP, and stolen base. 
Nolan Wayne 2025 Rochester John Marshall

In 4 Games Played: 9 for 14 (7 1B, 2 2B), .643/.722/.768, 2 RBI, 5 Runs Scored, 4 BB vs 1 SO, and 1 SB.

Started all 4 games at SS - 13 Defensive Assists/3 DP turned

Owen Lind 2025 Mora  8 IP, 1 H, 11K, 2BB, 3-2 over MLWR - both runs unearned 
Owen Loge 2025 Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 13.1, 2-0, 17 strikeouts, no walk, no earned runs, .068 BAA, 74.8% strikes

Preston Schoenfelder 2025 Cannon Falls 3-for-4 against PEM on Tuesday including a first pitch, leadoff home run.  4-for-9 on the week for .444 BA.
Quintin Tietz 2025 Windom Hitting: 6-for-11 (.545 AVG), 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 SB;  Pitching - 1-0, 4 IP, 7 K's, 0.00 ERA
RJ Madison 2027 Mounds View RJ had a great week at the plate emerging as the Mustangs 2 hitter. 5 hits in 11 ABs, scoring 3 runs, and stealing 4 bases.
Ryan Cahoon 2025 Northfield Ryan finished our first week with a .385 average, 2 2B, 2 HR, and 7 RBI while also doing a great job defensively behind the plate.
Seth Thompson 2025 Northfield Seth had 3 home runs in our Saturday doubleheader and finished the week with a .385 average, 8 RBI, and 5 R in our first 4 games.
Solomon Kardell 2025 Legacy Christian Academy Pitching: CG Shutout vs. Heritage Christian Academy (7 IP, 5 H, 8 SO, 0 BB)
Hitting: 4-for-7, 2 BB, 3 SB, 2 R
Tanner Rothbauer 2026 St. Francis Tanner was 2-0 for us last week. He threw 9 innings, didn't allow a run, gave up 6 hits, struck out 10. Also went 3-for-7 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.
