In the opening week of Western League play the Patriots and Pointers will square off in a three-game set between two teams with real chances of standing at the top of the league come the end of the season. Patrick Henry enters the series on a three game winning streak having scored 19 runs in their last three games while holding their opponents to just five runs. Brooke continues to pace the Patriots offensive effort now at .375 with three doubles and three homers while Mestman sits at .306 with Bobo adding two homers. The Patriots staff will rely on the arms of J. Gunn, B. Gunn, Moloney, Brum and Cappelletti to take the bulk of the innings while trying to limit the Pointers offensive attack in this series. The Pointers have risen their way into the middle of the Prep Baseball California Power 25 on the strength of a strong offense that has scored 80 runs in 14 games while holding their opponents to just 36 runs in that time. Garrison, Lara and Brant have been a stellar trio of arms for the Pointers. The trio are throwing to the tune of an ERA of 0.00 for Garrison, 3.06 for Lara, 3.05 for Brant with three wins for Garrison, two for Brant and two saves for Lara. At the plate, Frost has posted a .306 average with three doubles and two homers while Brant is at .378 with three doubles, two triples and two homers. Point Loma also has Williams and Waterman off to over .300 seasons. Reddeg and Hall have added homers to their offensive attack.
