LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - Each week during the high school season we will announce the California Player of the Week covering the action from the previous week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting a Hitter and Pitcher of the Week based on recommendations from high school coaches from around California.
Continuing from previous seasons, we will also be highlighting others players from across the state in our Prep Baseball California Diamond Notes which will be released weekly. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches who are deserving of recognition but were not named Hitter/Pitcher of the Week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
2025 RHP Kyle Pott of Franklin High School has been named the California Pitcher of the Week after a dominant Wednesday performance on the mound against Sheldon.
The 6’5 UC Santa Barbara signee tossed a perfect game over five innings en route to the Wildcats’ 10-0 mercy rule win. Pott went 15 up, 15 down while striking out 12.
Pott has been instrumental to Franklin’s ascent up the Power 25 rankings, clocking in at No. 5 on this week's update. The Wildcats have a 12-2 record entering this week with big contributions on the mound from Pott. He currently owns a 4-0 record with a 1.11 ERA over three starts and six appearances. Across his 25.1 innings of work, Pott has struck out 45 batters while owning a sub 1.000 WHIP.
