Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culmination of all players that were not selected for player of the week.

Battle for Bartow

Monday

Jack Richerson, INF, 2026, Marist
Uncommitted. After a massive year on the gridiron and strong performance at Future Games, Richerson is receiving dual sport offers from all around the country. This was our 1st look at Richerson since early in the year and he looked locked in at the plate. He had 2 barrels that were easy triple digit EV’s back up the middle. There is minimal movement at the dish with raw power that is always on display. Richerson is one of the top Uncommitted 2 way prospects in the state, as he is a 90 arm on the mound with much more on the way. Richerson potential is nearly unlimited both at the plate and on the mound with the athletic, 6-foot-4 200-pound frame that can look the part on any P4 football field.

 Walker Taulbee, LHP, 2028, Buford
I was able to get a brief look at Taulbee earlier in the year and he walked away with a circle around the name to check in on later in the year. We were able to see him in a longer relief appearance and attacked the zone with the upper 70’s FB and showed real feel for spin in the mid 60’s. The numbers don’t jump off of the page right now but, but this is a similar arm to Joseph Soto that I saw early his sophomore year in the low 80’s and was bumping upper 80’s by the end of the summer. The pitch ability is advanced for his age and has a unique cross fire delivery that will be deceptive to hitters, hitting the ball well. Taulbee is just one of many reasons this Buford team will be a team to follow the next 4 years with some of the top talent in the stare.

Tuesday

Devin Crawley, OF, 2025, Calhoun
Uncommitted. The senior compiled a strong stat-line out of the lead-off spot for the Yellow Jackets Tuesday evening. Reaching base in all three plate appearances and finishing 2-for-2 with a HR, 1B, and a HBP. Unloading on one for a no-doubt solo Home-Run to the pull-side to break things open en route to a run-rule victory. Crawley shows good pitch recognition with a keen eye at the plate. As well as staying balanced through the zone with advanced use of his lower half. A consistent tough out that sets the tone at the top of the order. Uncommitted name to know.
