2025 CHSAA Players of the Week: April 14-19

Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.

CHSAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: APRIL 14-19

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Sam Eldredge RHP / 1B / Summit, CO / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 25 / POS: 9

Eldredge resides deep in the Rocky Mountains where he attends Summit HS in Breckenridge, Colorado. This hasn't stopped the former Future Gamer from being one of the top arms in the state as the Cal Poly commit comes with a fastball around 90 mph with plenty of overall pitchability. Last week, Eldredge went 6 innings with 11 Ks, just one hit allowed, zero earned runs, and three walks against Rifle HS to earn the respective 'Pitcher of the Week' award. Eldredge comes with a strong and durable frame which should provide plenty of upside for him as he continues his baseball career. The junior has helped lead his 4A Summit program to an 11-4 record this season while Eldredge has pitched 39 innings with 69 Ks, and holds down a .614 average at the plate with 15 (!) extra-base hits. 

 

 

HITTER OF THE WEEK:

Mason Griffin OF / RHP / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2025

Griffin has had quite the spring so far and last week's performances against Rocky Mountain HS stood out above the rest. The Northern Colorado commit went 5 for 7 in week 6 with 2 homeruns, a double, 5 RBI, and 4 runs scored. Griffin belted both of his homeruns in a slugfest in the Sabercats' second game of the week against the Lobos when Fossil Ridge won 15-13 (11-4 record overall). The senior leads his team in hitting with a .491 average, 3 HR, 3 3B, 9 2B, and a 1.460 OPS across 58 plate appearances this spring. Griffin's ceiling continues to grow as he also comes with some higher-end tools thanks to his 6.7 60 yard dash time, an 88 mph outfield throwing velocity, and over a 100 mph event max exit velocity.
