MONDAY, APRIL 14TH

+ 2B Asher Doepel (Hartselle, 2026) continues to impress in each viewing and Monday night was more of the same as the uncommitted junior went 3-4 with four runs scored. Showing present strength in a 5 '9, 155-pound frame, Doepel showcases a short and compact line-drive approach mostly working to the middle of the field. There is plenty of bat speed as he triggers the swing with a medium sized leg kick on the front side, allowing the barrel to follow with present lag through the zone. He manipulates the barrel well through the hitting zone, handling pitches in all quadrants of the hitting. The barrel stays mostly level through the hitting zone but does show a small tilt in the barrel on the finish. Doepel is simply a gamer that shows high instincts and baseball IQ on the bases and with the glove. The Tigers will look for the uncommitted junior to continue his productive ways as the state playoffs begin later this week, making him a can’t-miss prospect for college coaches to check out.
