Border Battle: Quick Hits

SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA - The annual North Dakota/South Dakota High School Border battle took place on April 11th and 12th at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls. There were a collection of high performers from both states, all highlighted down below.

Alex Seaver RHP / 1B / RED RIVER HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2026Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 3
Seaver filled up the strike zone in his outing against Mitchell. Living in the upper 80s throguhout. Showing a big sweeping slider kept bats off of him throghout his outing. Premium arm from Grand Forks North Dakota.

Drake Eastman RHP / Dell Rapids, SD / 2026Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 4
Eastman came out strong in his first couple innings against West Fargo Sheyenne. Eastman displayed dominant stuff, striking out the side in his first two innings of work with a mid-80s fastball.

Cason Borchardt OF / LHP / Horace, ND / 2027Borchardt showed the qualities that makes him the number 1 ranked player in the Dakotas. Pounding the strike zone in the mid 80's as well as collecting 4 hits across two games on Friday. More to come from the athletic and projectable Sophomore.

Gregory Noel LHP / SHANLEY, ND / 2025Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 2
The Des Moines Area Community College commit showed loose and whippy mechanics. Fastball Lived in the low 80s, flipping in a depthy breaking ball. The furure Bear will see more velocity and overall stuff will come with more physical maturity.

Ben Sheets RHP / 1B / Fargo North, ND / 2027Sheets displayed a simple approach at the box, working direct to the baseball. Hopped on the mound and filled up the zone in the upper-70s topping out at 80.

Jett Collins SS / 3B / HORACE HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2026Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 5
Collins was opeed some eyes in his 2 innings of work on the mound. Worked primarily with his fastball at 84-86 T88. Showcased arm talent with a strong bodied frame.

Tad Tjaden LHP / Dell Rapids , SD / 2025The Southwest Minnesota State Commit was up to 83 under the lights. Flipped in a change up at times for another layer of deception. Easy and repeatable mechanics on display, short arm action.

Jayce Burns 2B / 3B / West Fargo Sheyenne, ND / 2025Burns was a pesky bat out of the 3 hole for the Mustangs. Compact frame with a whippy swing, collected 2 hits and worked counts against a tough Dell Rapids arm.

Bryson Prussman OF / RHP / Tea Area High School - 03, SD / 2027The Sophomore out of Tea got up to 81 with his fastball, and threw a breaking ball in for strikes and s/m. Athletic bodied and should gain more strength and velocity with time. Knows how to pitch and sequences pitches well.

Ryan Ommen / Shanley, ND / 2027Athletic at the plate, Ommen showed the ability to go the other way with authority. Collected three hits during fridays contests.
