The Sweet 16 round of the AHSAA Class 7A-1A state baseball playoffs delivered no shortage of standout performances as teams across the state began their championship quests. From dominant pitching to explosive offensive outbursts, players stepped up in big moments to lead their teams to crucial playoff victories that punched tickets to the quarterfinals. Here’s a look at some of the top individual performers who made a major impact and helped set the tone for what’s shaping up to be another exciting week of postseason play in Alabama.
Class 1A Top Performers
- Kye Crimm (South Lamar) – Pitched 6.2 innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts to help South Lamar sweep Athens Bible.
- Andrew Mordecai (South Lamar) – Earned two saves across the series by throwing three scoreless innings and allowing just one hit to help South Lamar sweep Athens Bible.
- Stone Talley (Addison) – Went 5-for-7 with two doubles and seven RBIs while pitching a complete-game win to lead No. 5 Addison to a series win over Pickens Academy.
- Jayden Parks (Brantley) – Threw a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts and four hits allowed to keep No. 9 Brantley's season alive with a Game 2 win over University Charter.
- Logan Dunaway (Autauga Academy) – Delivered a complete-game effort, giving up just one earned run over seven innings to help Autauga Academy take the series over No. 3 Millry.
- Dalton Jackson (Florala) – Struck out seven over 5.2 innings on the mound and went 4-for-7 with two doubles and four RBIs at the plate to lift No. 6 Florala past No. 7 Fayetteville in the series.
- Noah Bryan (Florala) – Threw a complete-game win in Game 3, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out seven to secure the series for No. 6 Florala against No. 7 Fayetteville.
- Keegan Giles (Leroy) – Pitched seven innings with one earned run and seven strikeouts while also hitting a double to help No. 4 Leroy take down No. 8 Billingsley in Game 3.
- Blaise Vickery (Hackleburg) – Powered Hackleburg with two home runs at the plate and threw a complete-game win in Game 1 to help No. 1 Hackleburg defeat No. 2 Appalachian.
- John Hasten Stidham (Hackleburg) – Dominated at the plate by going 8-for-10 with a home run, a double, and five RBIs to lead No. 1 Hackleburg to a series win over No. 2 Appalachian.
Class 2A Top Performers
- Aiden Poe (Vincent) – Went 2-0 with 8.2 innings pitched, allowing six hits and striking out 17 to lead No. 1 Vincent to a series win over North Sand Mountain.
- Austin Hubbard (Sumiton Christian) – Fired a seven-inning shutout with 14 strikeouts and also hit a home run with two RBIs to power No. 2 Sumiton Christian to a sweep of Lindsay Lane Christian.
- Jeramiah Thorne (Red Bay) – Had a strong two-way performance with a 2-for-4 outing and a 2B in Game 1 and then pitched seven scoreless innings to help No. 6 Red Bay defeat Decatur Heritage Christian.
- Landyn Lewey (Red Bay) – Went 6-for-10 with three doubles and three RBIs in the series to help No. 6 Red Bay take down No. 5 Decatur Heritage Christian.
- Cam Isbell (Mars Hill Bible) – Tossed six shutout innings and added an RBI single to help No. 7 Mars Hill Bible sweep past Westminster-Oak Mountain.
- Luke Barron (Pike Liberal Arts) – Dominated at the plate going 5-for-6 with four doubles and four RBIs while adding three scoreless innings on the mound to lead No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts over Horseshoe Bend.
- Ellis Hamiter (Tuscaloosa Academy) – Pitched seven innings allowing just one earned run and then went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs in Game 3 to lift Tuscaloosa Academy past No. 4 Ariton.
- Jamarkius Smith (Reeltown) – Tossed five hitless innings with eight strikeouts and delivered offensively with a home run and two hits to spark Reeltown's sweep over No. 3 GW Long.
- Hagan Lewis (Reeltown) – Threw a complete game allowing just one run on five hits to help Reeltown finish the sweep over No. 3 GW Long.
- Braylon Morris (Cottonwood) – Fired a seven-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and added a triple and an RBI to push No. 8 Cottonwood past Ranburne.
- Austyn Miller (Cottonwood) – Struck out nine over seven innings and added four hits at the plate including a double, triple, and four RBIs to lead No. 8 Cottonwood’s sweep over Ranburne.
Class 3A Top Performers
- Luke Holbrook (Whitesburg Christian) – Struck out 15 in a complete-game win and went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, and four RBIs to lead No. 10 Whitesburg Christian’s sweep over JB Pennington.
- Kaleb Robinson (Whitesburg Christian) – Tossed a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts to help No. 10 Whitesburg Christian complete the sweep over JB Pennington.
- Blake Bowman (Prattville Christian) – Fired a complete-game two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and added a double to power No. 1 Prattville Christian’s sweep over Wicksburg.
- Ethan Walls (Prattville Christian) – Struck out 11 over seven innings while allowing just one earned run and chipped in a double to help No. 1 Prattville Christian sweep Wicksburg.
- Jack Diefenderfer (Prattville Christian) – Struck out all three batters faced to earn the save and hit a walk-off two-run home run in the eighth inning to seal No. 1 Prattville Christian’s sweep over Wicksburg.
- Braden Martin (Lee-Scott Academy) – Pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead No. 6 Lee-Scott Academy’s sweep over Flomaton.

- Walt Hennicke (Winfield) – Delivered a triple, a double, and six RBIs in the series to help No. 3 Winfield complete the sweep of Lauderdale County.
- Kayden Henderson (Vinemont) – Collected seven hits including two doubles and drove in four runs to help Vinemont take two of three from Phil Campbell.
- Joshua Rhodes (Vinemont) – Fired a complete game and added four hits and two RBIs to lift Vinemont to a must-win Game 3 victory over Phil Campbell.

- Reed Bruce (Central-Florence) – Went 5-for-7 with a double and four RBIs as No. 9 Central-Florence swept Cordova.
- Clayton Reynolds (Central-Florence) – Pitched six innings allowing one run with six strikeouts as No. 9 Central-Florence swept past Cordova.
- Damon Devine (Etowah) – Tossed a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in Game 1 and went 4-for-5 with a triple and an RBI as No. 2 Etowah swept past New Hope.
- Jameson Scissum (Etowah) – Threw four hitless innings with five strikeouts in Game 2 and added a double and two RBIs to help No. 2 Etowah sweep past New Hope.

- Caden Norwood (Lawrence County) – Fired a complete game in Game 1, allowing one earned run, and went 4-for-7 with a double and six RBIs in the series, including a two-out, two-RBI walkoff single in Game 1 as No. 6 Lawrence County took two of three from No. 1 Springville.
- Parker Frost (Lawrence County) – Tossed three hitless innings in relief for the win in the deciding Game 3 and went 3-for-4 with a triple, double, RBI, and two walks in the series as No. 6 Lawrence County took two of three from No. 1 Springville.
- Jack Doyle (Madison Academy) – Threw a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts in Game 1 as No. 2 Madison Academy swept Leeds.

- Aiden Hughes (Chelsea) – Pitched seven innings allowing three hits, one run, and struck out seven in Game 1 and went 1-for-2 with an RBI as No. 3 Chelsea swept past Saraland.
- Jackson Price (Chelsea) – Pitched seven innings allowing two hits and no runs with eight strikeouts in Game 2 as No. 3 Chelsea swept past Saraland.
