The Top 5

Live Oak will finish the 2025 regular season as the top ranked team in our Power 25 Rankings with a 26-5 overall record.  The Eagles beat Opelousas Catholic and split their two game district series with Dutchtown.  Last Saturday, senior Cooper Smith belted two home runs with all four runs batted in to lead Live Oak to the 4-2 win over Dutchtown.  His second home run was a three-run walk-off blast in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Barbe stays at the #2 spot again in this update with a 30-4 overall record.  The Bucs beat district-foe Southside twice last week, before defeating Grace Christian twice last Friday to keep their 26 game winning streak alive.

Teurlings Catholic checks in at #3 with an overall record of 26-3.  The Rebels went 4-0 last week with wins over Avoyelles, Loreauville, Sulphur, and St. Edmund Catholic.  They outscored those four opponents by a combined 47 runs to 6.

Catholic BR will finish the 2025 regular season as our 4th ranked team with a 28-5 overall record.  The Bears beat Woodlawn last Tuesday and then split their two-game district series with Zachary.  Junior Lucas Lawrence was stellar against the Broncos last Tuesday, as he tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts on just 67 pitches (78% strikes) to lead Catholic BR to the 3-0 win.

Benton has been in the Top-10 of our Power 25 Rankings all season long and will finish at the #5 spot.  The Tigers went 4-1 last week to improve their season record to 31-3 overall.  They swept Airline last week, split with Natchitoches Central, and beat Jena.

Risers

+ West Monroe will enter the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the state with a 23-7 overall record.  The Rebels check in at #8 in this update and are riding a 17 game winning streak.  They'll finish the regular season on Monday with a matchup against four-time defending Non-Select Division IV State Champion Oak Grove.

+ Natchitoches Central moves up seven spots in this update to #15 overall.  The Chiefs have quietly won 10 of their 11 games with their lone loss during that stretch coming at the hands of Benton last week.

+ Jesuit jumps up three spots to #17 in this week's final Power 25 Rankings update.  The Blue Jays have won their last five straight to improve their season record to 22-9.
