Now that the 2025 LHSAA high school baseball playoffs have started, we feel that it is a perfect time to highlight some of the top performers from the first round of the playoffs.  After the completion of each playoff round, we will update this story to continue to highlight the top performances.  Be sure to follow us, across all our social media platforms, for non-stop coverage of the 2025 LHSAA high school baseball playoffs!

TOP PLAYOFF PERFORMERS (BI-DISTRICT ROUND)

Braylen Montgomery OF / Walker, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 The Oklahoma commit was a big offensive contributor in Walker's first-round series win over Thibodaux.  Montgomery went 4-for-8 (.500) with 2 home runs, a double, 4 runs batted in, 3 runs scored, and also drew 3 walks.

	Brody Trosclair LHP / Thibodaux, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 47 / POS: 5 The Northwestern State recruit was fantastic in Game 2 of the Tigers first-round series against Walker.  Trosclair tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed only 6 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts to pick up the win.
	Caleb Klug RHP / Denham Springs, LA / 2025 Klug earned the win in Game 1 for the Yellow Jackets in their first-round playoff series against Mandeville, after tossing 6 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts on 78 total pitches.
	Grayson Seaford LHP / Sulphur, LA / 2025 The senior southpaw picked up a win in relief last weekend in the Tors first-round series win over Covington.  Seaford tossed 4 shutout innings and allowed only 3 hits with 0 walks and 4 strikeouts.

Jake Simmons OF / Ruston, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 48 / POS: 9 The East Central Community College recruit had a stellar couple of games for Ruston in their first-round series sweep over Hahnville.  Simmons went 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple, 2 runs batted in, 3 runs scored, 2 walks, and also stole 2 bases.

Jackson Beddoe INF / Sulphur, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 32 / POS: 8 The uncommitted senior had a big-time showing in Sulphur's upset series win over Covington in the bi-district round of the playoffs.  Beddoe went 4-for-7 with a home run, double, 3 runs batted in, and also swiped 4 bases.  His home run was a walk-off home run in Game 2 that sealed the Sulphur win to send them to the regional round of the playoffs.

Brayden Calamari C / RHP / Slidell, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 199 / POS: 29 Calamari played a big part in the Tigers first-round upset series win over Zachary last weekend.  In Game 1, he earned the win on the mound after tossing 6 innings allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.  He also went 1-for-3 at the plate in that game with a home run 2 runs batted in and a run scored.

	Kenyon Hughes Jr. SS / St. Augustine, LA / 2025 The Southern University recruit went 3-for-5 with a triple, 1 run batted in, 4 runs scored, and 5 stolen bases in St. Augustine's first-round sweep of Liberty.
	Kevin Marix 1B / North Vermilion, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 137 / POS: 29 The uncommitted junior went 4-for-8 with a home run, 4 runs batted in, and 2 runs scored in the Patriots bi-district sweep of Beau Chene last week.
	Jackson Lee OF / Ruston, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 68 / POS: 17 The uncommitted junior went 3-for-6 for Ruston last weekend against Hahnville with a triple, 4 runs batted in, 3 runs scored, and he also had 2 stolen bases.
	Tanner McCollough LHP / Pine Prairie, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 82 / POS: 12 The uncommitted junior southpaw was stellar in the Panthers Game 1 win over Avoyelles in the bi-district round of the playoffs.  McCollough earned the win after tossing 6 1/3 shutout innings allowing only 3 hits with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts.
	Bryce Robinson 3B / St. Augustine, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 3 Robinson went 4-for-7 with a run batted in, 4 runs scored, and an eye-popping 7 stolen bases in the Purple Knights bi-district round sweep of Liberty last week.
	Justin Lartigue 1B / Lake Charles College Prep, LA / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 132 / POS: 4 The Northwestern State recruit went 4-for-6 with 2 doubles, 5 runs batted in, 2 runs scored, and had a stolen base in the Trailblazers first-round sweep of Tara.
	Christian Sauska RHP / Isidore Newman, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 8 The former Future Gamer was dominant in Game 1 of the Greenies bi-district playoff round series against Fisher last Friday.  Sauska threw a complete-game shutout and allowed only 2 hits with 4 walks and 14 strikeouts.
	John Parker Moak OF / Ruston, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 26 / POS: 7 Moak came through with the biggest hit of the series last weekend for Ruston against Hahnville.  In the top of the 8th in Game 2 with the score tied at 6-6, he belted a go-ahead home run that would seal the series sweep for the Bearcats.
