Junior College Baseball is heating up in Region X.  Below we take a look at the standings in all three classifications within Region X.  We also break down key statistial leaders, giving us a glimpse on names to know as we head to the post-season.

Region Baseball Statistical Leaders – April 17, 2025

As the season heats up, several standout performers across Region X are making their presence felt both at the plate and on the mound. Here's a look at the top statistical leaders from each category as of April 17, 2025:

Batting Average
USC Union’s Mason Elrod leads all hitters with an impressive .452 average, consistently finding ways to get on base and set the tone for his offense. Patrick Evans (Flo-Dar) isn’t far behind, swinging it at a .438 clip, while Brandon Crabtree (Gaston) has been a key bat, hitting .415 on the year.

Runs Batted In (RBI)
Zack Hunt of Flo-Dar is pacing the region in RBIs with 57, a testament to his consistency in run-producing situations. David Nicks (Gaston) has also been productive with 51 RBIs, and USC Union’s Aiden Talarico adds 49 to round out the top three.

Home Runs
Power production has been led by USC Union’s Aiden Talarico, who tops the leaderboard with 12 home runs. Joey Nicholson (Gaston) is close behind with 11, while Zack Hunt (Flo-Dar) continues his dominant offensive season with 8 homers.

Stolen Bases
Speed on the basepaths has been a difference-maker for many teams. Josh Jackson (USC Union) has been nearly unstoppable, leading the region with 31 stolen bases. Campos and Mitchell of Flo-Dar have swiped 15 each, while Kriss Sydlowski (USC Sumter) has tallied 12.

Wins (Pitching)
Two arms are tied atop the leaderboard in wins: Logan Prisco (Flo-Dar) and Carson Bay (USC Union) both have 9 victories to their name, anchoring their respective rotations. Gaston’s Parris and Frail follow with 7 wins apiece, while Andrew Buffkin (USC Sumter) has added 5 wins to his resume.

Earned Run Average (ERA)
Bryce Coulter (Flo-Dar) leads all qualifying pitchers with a sharp 2.08 ERA, showing excellent command and run prevention. Gaston’s duo of Parris and Frail have combined for a 2.89 ERA, while Carson Bay (USC Union) rounds out the top three with a 3.04.

Strikeouts
Noah Zimmerman (Gaston) has been overpowering on the mound, leading the region with 73 strikeouts. Logan Prisco (Flo-Dar) continues to impress with 58 punchouts, while USC Sumter’s Andrew Buffkin has recorded 42.

Danny O’Brien (Brunswick CC) continues to swing a scorching hot bat, leading the region with a remarkable .495 batting average. Josh Mason (Pitt CC) follows closely at .453, while Jackson Crute (Southeastern) isn’t far behind, hitting an impressive .442. Aiden Taylor (Lenoir CC) also deserves mention with a strong .451 average, giving his team a consistent offensive spark.

Runs Batted In (RBI)
