The Top 5

For the third straight week, Live Oak sits at the top of our Power 25 Rankings.  The Eagles moved their season record to 24-4 last week with a two-game district sweep of St. Amant.  Senior RHP Sawyer Pruitt was stellar against the Gators last Thursday, as he tossed 6 shutout innings and allowed only 1 hit with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.  This week, the Eagles will face defending Select Division IV State Champion Opelousas Catholic on Tuesday, before ending district play with a two-game set against Dutchtown on Thursday and Saturday.

Barbe jumps up two spots this week to #2 after winning all three of their games last week to improve their season record to 26-4.  The Bucs finished off the sweep of both of their district-rivals in Sam Houston and Sulphur, and have now won their last 20 games in a row.

Teurlings Catholic stays put at #3 with a 22-3 overall record this season.  The Rebels went 3-0 last week by beating North Vermilion and St. Thomas More twice to win their 28th district title in school history.  Junior LHP Dylan Helms earned the win for the Rebels in the district title clinching game against St. Thomas More, after throwing 6 innings and giving up 0 earned runs with 6 strikeouts.

Catholic BR jumps up a spot to #4 after moving their season record to 26-4 with four wins last week.  The Bears biggest win came last Thursday against University High.  This coming week, they'll face Woodlawn before a two-game set against Zachary.

Benton checks in at the #5 spot this week.  The Tigers went 3-1 last week to move their season record to 27-2.  Last Monday, they took a tough 4-3 loss to West Monroe, but they bounced back in a big way, as they beat Grace Christian and Huntington twice by a combined 41 runs to 0.

Risers

+ Northshore jumped back into the Top-10 last week and move up another couple of spots this week to #7 overall.  The Panthers won all four of their games last week, which included a two-game district sweep of Fontainebleau.  Junior RHP Connor Smith was nails in relief last Saturday against the Bulldogs, as he earned the win after tossing 4 shutout innings.

+ West Monroe creeps up another couple of spots to #11 overall in this update.  The Rebels went 3-0 last week with a two-game sweep of Neville and a big win last Monday over Benton.  Senior RHP Drew Ferguson earned the win against the Tigers after tossing a complete-game allowing only 1 earned run with 7 strikeouts.

+ Zachary jumps back into our Power 25 Rankings this week at the #25 spot.  The Broncos have won their last nine straight and won all three of their games last week to push their season record to 21-10.  Junior RHP Cullen Howard was spectacular in his start last week against Central BR.  Howard earned the win over the Wildcats after tossing a complete game one-hit shutout with 0 walks and 4 strikeouts.
