Staff

The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culmination of all players that were not selected for player of the week.

Battle for Bartow

Carson Moore, OF, 2026, Etowah
Uncommitted. Continuing his impressive Spring, Moore simply lived on the barrel on the first evening of Battle for Bartow. Collecting a trio of barrels against strong arms. Standing a physical, athletic 6-foot-0, 190-pounds, Moore possesses present strength from the ground-up. Simple actions with great use of his lower half allow the RHH to deliver a heavy barrel through the zone. Also, displays a mature approach and works through the middle of the field. The feel for the barrel is present with real impact out front. The power has shown up quite often this spring but the feel to hit is very real as well. Posing yet another strong offensive piece in a potent Eagles line-up.

Colin Raymond, C/OF, 2028, The Stony Brook School (NY)
Raymond is one of the more physically advanced freshmen you’ll find in the country, standing a physical 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. The strength in the frame would show up in a massive way during his last at-bat of the weekend. Exploding through the zone, Raymond would lose every-bit of one to the pull-side for a towering Home-Run, 100 EV, 387 FT. Consistently delivers a heavy barrel to find solid impact through the zone with an aptitude to work to all-fields. The mature approach stands out whether facing high-velocity or spin to go along with a keen eye and an advanced understanding of the zone. Must know name in the ‘28 class.

Noah Lindberg, 3B, 2025, Johns Creek
College of Wooster commit. Lindberg would stand out from the jump as he really looked the part at the hot corner throughout the game. Making countless tough plays with ease. Showing bouncy, athletic actions in the dirt with soft hands and flexibility. As well as impressive lateral range to either side. The RHH would also provide a big stick in the order for the Gladiators. As he would finish the day and go 2-for-3 with a HR, 1B, and 2 RBI. In his second at-bat of the day, Lindberg would barrel every bit of a hanging BB for a no-doubt shot over the LF wall. He would then come through in a crucial moment late in the game with a smoked RBI 1B into LF. Displaying simple actions while being balanced and staying compact through the zone, Lindberg holds many hitterish traits throughout. Showing present feel for the barrel with leverage to the pull-side and impact out front. There are strong tools to project on at the plate within the athletic 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame.

Max Willhide, RHP, 2025, Houston County
Chattahoochee Valley CC commit. Willhide would toe the rubber in a massive Top-5 Power 25 matchup, and it was clear from the start that he was up for the task. Willhide, a fiery competitor, put together a gritty performance to give his team about as massive as a win you're going to get in the regular season. Dialed in from the very beginning he would keep hitters off-balance with a 4-pitch mix. Fastball sat 84-86 T87. Pairing nicely off the fastball was the curveball that was flipped over at 70-73 and created depth. As well as working in a slider at 71-73 and a changeup at 79-82. Willhide would cruise to a complete game while striking out 7 across 7.0 IP of 1-run ball.

Isaiah Galason, 2B, 2027, Houston County
Galason is looking to wrap up a region title this week where he has led the team at the plate in nearly every category. He is having a monster sophomore campaign, hitting over .500 with only a few games left in the season. Maturity at the plate like Galason is having usually doesn’t start to take form until they are an upperclassmen, but he has found it after a full year in the line up as a freshman. The progression from freshman to sophomore year has been impressive. He tallied 8 hits across the week against 2 nationally ranked teams. Nearly every ball he hit was an upper 90 EV, including 2 tripe digits barrels up the middle. He capped off the week with a no doubter to deep left field.

 Nate Curcio, RHP, 2027, Etowah
This was the 1st look at Curcio on the mound since the summer and we walked away really impressed. We knew he was a quick twitch athlete with a lot of upside, but he came up up to 89 with easy life. Settled in at 85-87 and produced swing and miss on the fastball up in the zone. The breaking ball will continue to develop and with added strength/size we could see him get into the low 90’s this summer. Curcio is a dynamic 2 sport athlete that will be a fun follow the next couple of years.

Hunter Bedenbaugh, OF, 2027, East Coweta

Reid Worley, RHP, 2025, Cherokee
To put a cap on the opening night of Battle for Bartow with a large scout contingent behind home plate, the Kennesaw State commit showed why he’s the top arm in Georgia’s 2025 class. Worley had the fastball working both in and out of the zone. Living 90-93 with some ride showing, averaging 18+” IVB with both chase and IZMs. Slider is a comfortable plus pitch at this point at 80-84 with innate feel to spin (3050+ RPM) and manipulate sweep alike. Generated whiffs at will and could even triple down on it at times for outs. Can dominate with two pitches but has shown feel for the CH as well in past looks and potentially adding a cutter as well. Worley has some big time matchups on tap as Cherokee moves towards the end of region play and into the playoffs.

Colin Anderson, 3B, 2028, Etowah
We’ve told you how special this freshman season has been for Anderson, and yet he impresses more in each outing. I mentioned the limitless power potential recently in a tweet and that was on display early and often in a big win over a quality out-of-state opponent. The third baseman would dismantle a ball off the top of the scoreboard for a no-doubt grand slam that now gives him 40+ RBI as a freshman and over halfway to the career Etowah record. The hit tool is growing at a rapid pace to catch up to the power and put together a 5-hit day across the doubleheader while notching hits against full pitch mixes. Anderson is already seeing full ABs without a fastball and still doing consistent damage. Actions in the dirt continue to grow and will be a mainstay on the left-side for the next 4 years. There’s top player in the class potential in the profile and Anderson only hauls himself closer each time we see him.

Aiden Ruiz, SS, 2026, Stony Brook
This was the second time I’ve had the chance to see Ruiz this spring and I’ve been highly impressed each time. The Vanderbilt commit takes some of the most at-bats that I’ve seen in the 2026 class nationally. On a tweaky hammy, Ruiz would reach base in all four ABs in GM 1 with 3 BB and a pull-side 2B after a double-digit AB. In a battle with Matthew Sharman, the SS proceeded to foul off 6 straight pitches, showing immense plate coverage and bat-to-ball skills before exploding on a breaking ball into the gap at 101 off the bat. There’s times when watching Ruiz that you feel opposing pitching has a better chance of getting him out before two strikes. It’s truly a treat to watch. One of the top players in New York’s 2026 class.

Kendall Jackson, OF, 2025, Houston County
Pound for pound, Jackson could be the most athletic outfielder in the state with true plus speed and highly advanced routes/tracking while showing that in spades this past weekend. Tracked down balls moving in all directions while covering a wide area including a fantastic catch where the Chattanooga Valley commit was in a a full back pedal to the batters eye and laid out to steal extra-bases on a 100 EV ball. Easily 30% or less catch probability. Jackson would show well at the plate, causing havoc out of the leadoff spot for HoCo. Picked up multiple 100+ EVs to both fields as well as adding a handful of runs and 6 stolen bases across the doubleheader on Friday. Jackson will be vital as Houston County looks to be one of the most potent teams in the state heading into playoff season.

Matthew Sharman, RHP/1B, 2026, Etowah
The Georgia commit and Prep Baseball All-American continued his dominance at Battle For Bartow. On the bump, Sharman showed another impressive look in a brief, efficient outing while he struck out 5. Fastball showed ride through the zone and lived 90-93 with a handful of 94s. Slider spun over at 79-84 with the feel to land at will. As well as working in the changeup at 81-83. The 1B would also get it done at the plate Thursday evening as well. Collecting a pair of smoked base-hits in a strong all-around effort. Sharman would fire one backside off the bat at 102.8 in his first at-bat for a base-hit. He would then follow it up with a ringing 2-run Home-Run to CF at 101 EV, 406 FT. There is huge strength in the frame with advanced barrel skills within an all-fields approach. As well as staying extremely well-leveraged through the zone with massive impact in the barrel. Sharman continues to trend up as a household 2026 name nationally.

Sammy Ericson, RHP, 2025, Cherokee
Uncommitted. The kitchen sink was in full-effect from Ericson as he had the 5-pitch mix clicking on all cylinders. Ericson missed barrels with ease and kept hitters off-balance to cruise through 4.0 IP of 1-run ball while punching out 5. Sinker at 81-84 with the ability to paint the outer half to righties. Curveball at 72-76 displayed 12/6 movement and created depth. Showed an advanced for for the slider at 74-78 with tight spin and ability to manipulate. Innate confidence in the changeup at 76-79 with the ability to land R/R. Cutter played well off the fastball at 74-76. Present pitchability was on full display from the start. With the confidence to go to any pitch in any count and the ability to land in multiple quadrants of the plate. Uncommitted name to keep an eye on down the stretch for Cherokee.

Asher Webb, RHP, 2027, Cherokee
It was a brief, effecting outing for Webb out of the pen. As he would only work with a two-pitch mix to effectively work through the inning. Showing present arm speed in a clean arm action with athletic movements down the mound. The fastball sat 84-84 T85. Pairing nicely off the fastball was the slider at 77-80 with feel for spin to bury in the dirt for swing-and-miss. There is plenty of projection remaining within the profile for Webb.
