At the top

Rylan Howe RHP / Union, WA / 2027

Howe takes a major jump to the new number one ranked prospect in the Washington 2027 class after outstanding showings at PNW Preseason All-State and in-game this spring. The ultra-projectable righty arm has a lean, high-waisted 6'4 frame that moves well down the mound. Really turned heads at PNW Preseason All-State, where he ran the FB up to 91.3 MPH, sitting 88-90 MPH. The talent was solidified at another recent look in HS action, where the FB was still in the upper 80's with life. The slider shows flashes of a plus pitch already when located to the glove side in the mid-70's. A splitter rounded out the arsenal for the most part as a clear third option. The sophomore generated plenty of whiffs in-game, and though the velocity faded as the game went on, the skill was clear from the jump. The real seperator is the present ability to locate and throw strikes combined with the impressive arsenal and frame. Look for Howe to be one of the next dominant arms in the PNW as he continues to fill out and develop.

Brayden Landry SS / 3B / Puyallup, WA / 2027

The plus plus athlete maintains his second spot on the list, continuing to produce at the top of the lineup for a Puyallup team that is showing out as the best high school team in the state. Landry's glove and speed continue to be the leading tools, highlighted by an early-season look against Mount Vernon earlier this spring, where he made multiple ranging plays and was a disruptor on the basepaths. The bat is more contact-over-power to this point, hitting .339 with 5 doubles and carrying a nearly 1:1 K/BB ratio. The righty is a dynamic player and will be highly sought after once his recruitment period opens this summer.

Wyatt Plyler OF / RHP / Sumner, WA / 2027

Another standout in the preseason that continues to get better, Plyler posted some of the best metrics across the board at PNW Preseason All-State. The righty bat set new bests with a 103.9 MPH peak exit velocity, averaging 92 MPH, and ran a lightning quick 6.51 second 60-yard dash. The multi-sport prospect's natural athleticism showed throughout, and though he likely projects better as a bat currently he did still run the FB up to 90 MPH as well. The long strider covers ground in CF for his high school and was clocked at throws up to 93 MPH from the OF this winter. The 6'1 athlete has incredible tools and will be another top-end talent sought after.

Notable Newcomers

Jake Miller SS / RHP / Sumner, WA / 2027

Twitchy athlete impressed at the Northern Washington Preseason ID and looked the part in varsity action, earning a spot in the rankings update. LH swing has some raw power present with an uphill path. Quick feet and hands defensively play well on the left side of the INF. Posted exit velocities up to 97.5 MPH and ran a 3.80 second 60-yard dash to highlight his showcase numbers.

Peyton Crass RHP / Olympia, WA / 2027

Recently seen in high school action, Crass features a lower slot release with some deception, giving some life to a heater at 82-85 MPH. CB had loopier, 12/6 shape at 67-69 MPH. Generated a ton of swing and miss in the look and stayed behind the FB really well. Crass went 5 dominant innings and was part of Olympia's combined no-hitter. Medium framed prospect will be an arm to keep an eye on.

Tyler Buol 2B / RHP / Decatur High School, WA / 2027

The two-way player has been critical to Decatur's 12-1 start to the season despite his underclassman status. Buol is second on his team, hitting .381 with an aggressive approach from the RH side. The righty arm has also thrown 19 innings and allowed just 2 earned runs, striking out 23 and walking 6. Buol is having a fantastic season to this point, and was seen at FW Knights Scout Day this March.

Preseason Showcase Standouts

Landon Klein C / 3B / Snohomish, WA / 2027

One of the biggest winners of the preseason, Klein was one of several sophomores with a breakout showing at PNW Preseason All-State. The catcher posted a best pop time of 1.90 seconds and has plus plus athleticism for the position, running a 6.69 second 60-yard dash. RH swing carries a heavy barrel through the zone and had exit velocities into the mid-90's. Klein's standout showing led to over a 20-spot jump and into the top 10 of the latest rankings.

Joshua Morales RHP / OF / Bellarmine Prep, WA / 2027

A super toolsy arm with projectability, Morales showed well at the FW Knights Scout Day, and proved his stock in an in-game look. Lean-framed 6'2 arm's FB sat 85-87 MPH with spin rates suggesting more velocity could be coming. Morales showcased a four-pitch mix at the Scout Day, with the CH/SL flashing at times. The key for Morales will be throwing enough strikes, and if that can happen he could work his way even further up future rankings list.

Jacob Nelson RHP / OF / Lincoln, WA / 2027

Righty arm has had a nice showing at PNW Preseason All-State and is a part of a deep and talented group of underclassman arms at Lincoln High School. Filled up the strike zone with a three-pitch mix, including a FB in the low 80's and a CH/SL offspeed combination. Long, fluid arm action with easy delivery, could be more in the tank in 6'0 frame.

Prospects to Circle this Spring

Leyton Hurley RHP / C / University, WA / 2027

5'11 athlete with a stronger build showed out at the Central Washington Preseason ID, running his FB up to 90 MPH early in the winter. Hurley made some nice jumps across the board, including new bests with a 1.93 second pop time and 97.3 MPH exit velocity as well. Hurley will be one of the most sought after sophomores in eastern Washington this summer and will be a must-follow in the months to come.

Braxton Young SS / 3B / Selah, WA / 2027

6'0 infielder has generated some buzz consistently for a Selah team off to a great start this season. The righty has hit near the top of the order and manned the shortstop position for the most part. Coming from a family of athletic prowess, Young will be a prospect to keep an eye on as the Washington 2A playoffs approach.

Akoni Nazarino RHP / 1B / Kentridge, WA / 2027

Nazarino was an innings-eater with plus stuff in his freshman season at Kentridge and has continued to throw well this spring, highlighted by a recent outing dominating a talented Tahoma side. Nazarino was seen at the Seattle Preseason ID - Session II this March with a FB in the mid-80's and a plus breaking ball. Few sophomore arms will be more critical to their respective teams down the stretch and into the playoffs.
