Below are scouting notes on some of the standout prospects from the game.
Cedar Park Christian vs. Overlake (4.28.25)
Cedar Park Christian
'26 RHP/OF Lyal Viers (Uncommitted)
The junior arm got the start on the mound and turned in a great performance, going the distance to secure the victory for the Eagles. FB sat 80-83 MPH throughout the game, and showed real feel for a SL at 74-77 MPH in the early innings. Some cut on the FB from a 3/4 slot release. Worked around some command issues to start but settled in and dominated, pitching to contact in the zone. Final line on the mound of 7 IP, 4 H, R (0 ER), 2 BB, 3 K on just 91 pitches. Turned in a nice night from the leadoff spot as well, going 1-4 and scoring 2 runs with an uphill LH stroke.

Aggressive in the zone, going back and forth with both offerings. One unearned run the only blemish through 4 IP@lyalviers_45 | @PB_Uncommitted pic.twitter.com/WvCv7MhmXQ
'26 C Grady Gallagher (Uncommitted)
The most productive bat of the night finished 3-4 with a trio of hard-hit singles that found holes on the ground. Compact frame showcased a balanced approach, staying connected with a firm front side at contact and flatter barrel path. Made multiple impressive stops from the catcher position defensively, stabbing breaking balls with the glove that were well out in front, and stealing the high strike with frames. Junior was seen at the Northern Washington Preseason ID this winter where he showed similar defensive strength, including a 1.92 second pop time. Strong in-game look.
'25 1B Nathan Welch (Uncommitted)
Welch was the other major contributor offensively for CPC, going 2-3 with 4 RBI from the three-hole. Some rawness present in the offensive profile, but managed to shorten up with two strikes and deliver two of the biggest hits of the game with two 2-RBI singles. Fought an inside pitch off the other way in his first AB, and extended on a pitch away in his final AB, showing adjustability. Made a couple of nice stops at 1B defensively as well.

'27 OF Sheadon Conard (Uncommitted)
Athletic CF despite underclass status. Longer strider that covered ground with a couple of rangy plays. Long-levered athlete carried a quick barrel through the zone with a long stride load and wider base at contact. Went 1-3 offensively with a BB and RBI, delivering a big run to help pad the Eagle lead late in the game.

Overlake
'27 RHP Brendan Winkler (Uncommitted)
Some real flashes of potential shown by the SP for the Growls despite getting hit around a bit on this look. FB sat anywhere from 82-86 MPH, more in the 84-85 range as he settled into the game. Mostly attacked with the FB but did flash a few CB's and SL's in the low 70's as secondary offerings. High-intent delivery with whippy, loose arm action from a frame that still has plenty of room to add strength. FB generated whiffs when on the edges and up in the zone. Finished the night with 9 K's through 5 IP.

'25 INF/RHP Max Bieber (TCU Academic Commit)
Senior that was a big part of Overlake's championship run a season ago looked poised and confident in this look, despite a quieter night from a production standpoint. The shortstop did drive in the lone run of the game with a hard-hit ball to the left side in the third inning. Tall, lean frame moved well at SS with some arm strength across. Important piece for the Growls down the stretch.

'27 OF Daniel Weintraub (Uncommitted)
Sophomore reached base twice from the leadoff spot, including notching one of four hits on the night for the Overlake offense. Stays connected through the zone with a strong two-hand finish through contact. Finished the night 1-2 with a BB and run scored. Speedy OF in center closed in on the gaps quickly. Impressive performance.
'25 C Zaden Gauthier (Columbia Basin Commit)
The talent was clearly there for the CBC commit despite going hitless in this look. Just missed a couple of barrels, popping up a pair of times after working into some leverage counts. Pull-oriented approach while carrying a heavier barrel through the zone. Bat the leading tool with developing skill defensively from the catcher position.
