Taylor Berg
Utah Scouting Director

As Fall wraps up and we shift our focus toward the upcoming high school season, we turn our attention to one of the most important subsets of the Utah Class of 2026 rankings: the Top Uncommitted talent in the state. This update spotlights the premier infielders and outifielders still on the board, each of whom has made a strong case through standout Spring production, quality Summer showings, and consistent competitiveness throughout the Fall. With recruiting momentum expected to ramp up heading into the winter, this group represents some of the most intriguing opportunities for college programs still looking to fill their 2026 classes.

TOP 🔟 UNCOMMITTED INFIELDERS

Cayman Sanchez |
Olympus |
SS |

Cayman returns to Olympus in 2026 and will be a major contributor, immediately stepping into a leadership role. He attacks every game the same way, play as hard as you can and live with the results. I love to watch Cayman play no matter the season, you can count on him getting after it. Very athletic frame and background with years of proven varsity production, this kid will be a steal for whoever lands him next year.

Cohen Allred |
Riverton |
3B |

Cohen has been one of the premeir right-handed power bats in the Class throughout his career. The Futures Games Alum remains that same power threat, along with strong defense and an above average arm that topped 87 across the diamon at our West Coast Games this Fall. Cohen once again will be a featured hitter in the middle of the lineup for a loaded Riverton squad in 2026.

Caden Imes |

SS/C |

Caden is coming off of a historically strong offensive season, where his .600+ BA last Spring landed him in the top 25 of the entire country. Heading into his Senior year he may see more reps behind the plate, depending on what the team needs. That's the type of player you're getting with Caden, team first approach with the skills and versatility to play all over the field.

Cole Ybarra |
Lehi |
SS |

Cole has been playing ball at the highest levels throughout his playing career to this point, including deep playoff runs with Lehi where he played major roles. His offensive produciton and defensive reliability have become staples in Cole's game, and had he not suffered a minor setback this Fall we would have got him out to our West Coast Games. If he comes into 2026 fully healthy, he will be one of the best uncommitted players remaining, regardless of position.

| 36 |
Lange Livonius |
Juan Diego Catholic |
SS/3B |

Lange has been a Varsity starter the last 3 years, playing major roles for strong Juan Diego teams that made deep playoff runs multiple times. Versatile defender who can play all 4 infield spots, and pitch if needed. Offensively he consistently produces and stays through the gaps, occasionally flashing pull side HR power as well. Had he not torn his ACL this past Summer, he likely would have found a home already. He will be fully healthy by Summer and can absolutely play at the next level.

McKade Ortiz |
Riverton |
SS |

After a strong Summer and Fall tournament circuit, along with impressive outings at our showcases, Mckade vaulted himself into the converstation. Riverton rolls into 2026 as a strong preseason favorite, with players like McKade playing a major part in those expectations for a successful season. Athletic frame that has room to grow with plus physical tools and in-game proven production. This kid will be a strong player at the next level.

Landon Johnson |
Cedar Valley |
SS |

Very strong two-sport athlete (football QB) with physical tools and proven Varsity production. Landon has been a consistent starter the last 3 years, also catching or pitching as needed. Team player with a high IQ and passion for the game, Landon will be a great addition to any program he joins.

Cooper Hawkes |
Timpanogos |
SS |

We didn't get a chance to see Cooper again at the West Coast Games this Fall due to an unfortunate injury, but he will be 100% healthy heading into Spring. He has shown on multiple occasions sneaky strength and power offensively, along with sound defense up the middle. Extremely well coached and a "gamer" type player who seems to play his best, when his best is needed.

| 65 |
Nash Clement |
Pleasant Grove |
SS/2B |

Nash offers some of the highest physical upside of this entire group. He has ample room for added growth on an already impressive, very athletic frame. A "bouncy" quick twitch athlete that really excels on the bases and getting down the line out of the left-handed box. I expect a breakout year in 2026 for Nash, but his absolute best baseball is a year or two way. Will be a player that gets better every year and is farm from plateauing.

| 79 |
Ripken Jensen |
Ridgeline |
SS/2B |
Ripken is the ultimate team player, doing whatever his team has needed throughout his career. Whether he is on the mound eating innings, making plays up the middle or setting the table at the top of the order from the left side, his consistency has been impressive. He is an athlete with plenty of room for added growth over the next couple of years. High IQ player that stands to play a major role once again for Ridgeline.

TOP 🔟 UNCOMMITTED OUTFIELDERS

Trey Vaughn |
Snow Canyon |
OF |

Trey is the outright exit velocity leader for the entire state in 2025 (106.6). The Warrior OF brings power and athleticism to the field, along with physical upside down the line. Snow Canyon brings back a loaded, veteran squad and Trey is primed to be in the middle of the order and be a catalyst for their offense this Spring.

Garrett Downing |
Corner Canyon |
CF |

Garrett has been one of the most consistent OF in the state throughout his career, seeing regular Varsity action the last few years for a strong Corner Canyon team. The left-handed swing has proven production and gap to gap ability on his resume, combined with elite reads and jumps in CF. Garrett will be one of the steals of the class for whoever lands him at the next level.
