Ethan Peng OF / RHP / Jesuit, OR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 5
Few sophomores showed a better collection of tools than the Jesuit prospect, seen this July at the Portland Summer ID - Session II. The 6'1 two-way player posted standout metrics with 85 MPH throws from both the infield and outfield, paired with a 7.15 60-yard dash time. He also drove balls upward of 350 feet in batting practice with a peak exit velocity of 93.5 MPH. Peng capped off his stellar showcase with a great bullpen, featuring a loose, fluid 3/4 slot release with a FB up to 84 MPH. Peng's standout skillset could benefit Jesuit well, as the Crusaders graduate players including outfielder Kainoa Santiago and RHP Johnathan Ingalls. Look for Peng to make a leap and contribute at the varsity level next spring. |

Cody Scharer C / OF / South Salem, OR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 5
South Salem should once again be amongst the most talented varsity rosters in Oregon, and Scharer could be a new face in the Saxon lineup. The righty put together an intriguing look at this August's Pacific Northwest Summer Review, showing some athleticism and skill in a lean 6'0, 165 pound frame. Scharer ran a 7.13 60-time to kick off his showcase, followed by a best catcher pop time of 2.10 seconds. At the dish, the righty was on the barrel consistently, peaking with an exit velocity north of 90 MPH with a flatter bat path. As the frame continues to add strength, Scharer could well be a productive prospect in 2026. |

Connor Paasch SS / OF / Milwaukie, OR / 2028Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 10
Paasch showed some encouraging strides made between a summer showcase and a previous look, and carries some tools that could play moving forward. The 6'0, 175 pound prospect offers some positional versatility as both an infielder and an outfielder. The high-waisted frame is probably best suited for a corner role, with 7.27 second speed shown this summer. Offensively, Paasch creates some barrel lag through the zone and can spray line drives to the big part of the yard. The righty never looks out of control with loose wrists at contact and a longer two-handed finish. An underclassman to watch, Paasch could be a varsity contributor heading into his next high school season. |
