TOP 10 FRESHMEN - #6-10

Isaac Miller SS / 3B / Trinity, KY / 2029

2029 Isaac Miller profiles as one of the higher-upside follows in the class. The 5'10", 165 lb freshman carries an athletic, lean frame with plenty of physical growth still ahead. A 2025 Junior Future Games participant for Team KY, Miller shows an advanced, contact-driven approach with sneaky pop, flashing top exit-velocity numbers up to 90.6 mph. Consistent bat-to-ball skills pair with quality barrel awareness, producing a high hard-hit rate and natural backspin to all parts of the field. Defensively, he is polished for the class and continues to trend upward. Miller competes at reigning State Champion and 6th-ranked nationally Trinity High School, where there is a real chance he competes for early reps up the middle as a freshman. With the glove and offensive tools already ahead of the curve, Miller owns a high ceiling and is firmly a name to keep tabs on in Kentucky’s 2029 class.

Quinn Strunk 2B / SS / South Laurel High School, KY / 2029

2029 Quinn Strunk brings a physical, athletic 5'7" frame with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to mature. He shows early signs of a standout speed tool, posting an impressive 3.90 s 30-yard split and a 7.21 s 60, paired with notable arm strength up to 79 mph across the diamond. In the box, Strunk carries a physical presence and has already flashed high-end impact, reaching a 95.6 mph exit velocity with above-average bat speed (T68.7, Avg. 64.3). The hit tool is raw but powerful, projecting long-term upside and the potential to develop into a legitimate impact bat as he refines his approach. Defensively, the young ’29 is an athletic mover with a short, quick arm stroke from SS and the actions to cover quality ground. A high-energy athlete with real projection and upside moving forward.

Brady Wise LHP / 1B / St. Xavier High School, KY / 2029

2029 LHP Brady Wise stands at 6’2”, 160 pounds with long, loose levers and an athletic frame that offers plenty of room to add good weight and strength in the coming years. A smooth, controlled mover who also shows feel for the barrel offensively with future pull-side juice, Wise currently checks in as the No. 1 ranked left-handed pitcher and the No. 2 overall pitcher in the initial rankings. He projects as the next in a long line of dominant southpaws to come through St. Xavier, and was a key two-way member of LBC this summer on a talent-filled roster. While the two-way upside is certainly real, his presence and potential on the mound stand out. From a higher three-quarter slot, he shows feel for three pitches, highlighted by a fastball that flashes future ride through the zone, averaging over 18 inches of IVB while also showing more than 12 inches of horizontal action with spin in the low 2100s. If this trajectory continues, the fastball has a chance to become an elite offering in the near future. His secondary mix also shows strong promise, featuring a 1/7 curveball already spinning in the 2400s and a late-fading changeup where he is able to kill the spin down into the 1400s. With his projectable frame, advanced feel, and developing stuff, Wise has the makeup and upside to become a dominant force on the mound and a must-follow left-hander in the Commonwealth as his physicality and coordination continue to come together.

Landry Mayhugh C / RHP / Trinity High School, KY / 2029

Mayhugh stands at 5’11”, 163 pounds with an athletic frame that still has plenty of room to continue filling out as he matures. There is a controlled violence in the box, built with intent to do damage, and it shows in the data. During the Junior Future Games at LakePoint, he reached a max exit velocity of 95.2 mph and launched balls up to an impressive 342-foot max distance, pairing quick hands (24.5 HS) with lightning bat speed that peaked at 76.7 mph. Behind the plate, Mayhugh is an excellent receiver with a short, efficient arm action that helped him control the run game, showing 72 mph arm strength and pop times ranging from 1.95–2.13. He also offers intriguing two-way upside on the mound, already running the fastball up to 81 mph and flashing three developing secondary offerings that should only continue to progress as he gets stronger. Despite that two-way potential, Mayhugh projects as the heir apparent in a long line of outstanding Trinity backstops under HC Rick Arnold. While he may have to wait his turn to crack the nationally-ranked Shamrocks lineup, all signs point to him maturing physically in a hurry, and those already eye-opening metrics should continue to climb rapidly. At a young age, he is already a true tool shed, and for that reason, Landry has earned the distinction as Kentucky’s No. 1 ranked catcher in the initial 2029 rankings.

Kip Allen RHP / SS / Whitley County High School, KY / 2029

2029 Kip Allen stands 5’11”, 135 lbs with an athletic, wiry frame and plenty of physical development still ahead, offering big upside across the board. A young, athletic two-way, Allen shows intriguing ability both on the mound and around the field. As an eighth grader during the 2025 high school season for Whitley County, he turned in a highly productive offensive campaign, collecting 22 hits and 16 RBI in 63 AB while finishing with an impressive .349 average. On the mound, the projection is just as strong, running the fastball up to 82.2 mph with multiple solid secondary offerings already in the mix. He logged 45.1 innings, striking out 43 with only 15 walks, showing the ability to generate swing-and-miss when pairing the fastball effectively with the changeup. Looking ahead, Allen is expected to be a major key on both sides of the ball for Whitley County in the 2026 season. With his projectable frame, athleticism, and two-way impact at a young age, Allen owns a high ceiling and is certainly one to watch closely as he continues to develop.
