Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 RHP Carson King (Pine-Richland)
December 13, 2025
The Western Pennsylvania product is the 11th overall player and 5th right-handed pitcher in the Keystone State’s class of 2028. King boasts a strong 6-foot-3, 191-pound frame that has room for growth as he develops physically. King’s size, athleticism, and present velocity give him a strong foundation, and his ability to command multiple shapes makes him stand out early.
Over the last three outings we have had the chance to see King throw; he has continued to impress the crew in a different manner each time. The most recent outing was for Team Pennsylvania at the East Coast Super Sophomore Games where he displayed command of his entire arsenal along with advanced pitch metrics. King has flashed a three-pitch arsenal that contains a fastball, slider, and changeup. The fastball is typical 84-87 mph and has been up to 88 mph with over 17 inches of horizontal movement. He has shown a slider with over a 2,300-rpm spin rate and is 72-74 mph. His changeup is 76-79 mph with up to 18 inches of horizontal movement. King has shown lower half strength and body control throughout his pitching motion which has led to repeatable mechanics and accuracy.
Overall, King’s combination of size, athleticism, and a mature three‑pitch mix gives him one of the higher early ceilings in Pennsylvania’s 2028 class. His ability to show something new each outing speaks to both his feel and his developmental trajectory. As he continues to add strength and refine his arsenal, King projects as a high‑follow arm with the tools to make a significant jump in the coming years.
