The Top 10
|
Dexter McCleon Jr OF / RHP / Buford, GA / 2028Another year in the books where Dexter McCleon Jr. cements himself as one of the premier athletes in the country with explosive tools that only continue to grow. Tapered frame with plenty still to project at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Highest-level arm talent from a three-quarters slot for McCleon, regularly living in the mid-90s with heavy arm-side run, while running it up to 97-98 at times to close the summer out. Advanced feel to snap off the low-80s slider for strikes consistently with late bite that creates depth well. Tight, mid-70s curveball has been mixed in at times this year to strengthen the mix, alongside a low-80s changeup that could be an above-average offering shortly. It’s an extremely potent profile on the mound for someone who’s barely 16 years old. Rounding out the elite two-way talents for McCleon is the immense ceiling he’s armed with at both the plate and in the OF. A 6.4 runner with obvious plus arm strength and tremendous closing speed points to a potential long-term home anywhere he wants in the OF. Working from a steep bat path at the plate, the OF generates frozen rope line-drives at will, with nearly everything coming off the barrel at 95+ and doing it in every setting possible. There’s present plus bat speed and feel for the barrel that when paired with ever-growing strength in the 6-foot-3 frame can allow for potential plus power down the line. It’s a toolshed of a profile with production to back it up that puts McCleon in a different tier as the top sophomore in the country heading into the spring. |

Colin Anderson 3B / OF / Etowah, GA / 2028A standout freshman season with Etowah was followed up by a strong summer and gold medal with USA U15 for the top third baseman in the country. Anderson has been widely known to have some of the best power potential in the class and makes sure to set that in stone every time we see him. Loose hands with explosive bat speed in a flat, well-leveraged path allows Anderson to find the barrel regularly with effortless pull-side carry and exit velocities over 105 already. There’s a real chance it’s 60+ raw power right now with an express lane to reaching that or more in-game as well. Actions and arm strength play well at the hot corner with plenty of room to grow in the 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame that should keep Anderson on the left-side of the dirt long-term. Still just 15 years old with an impressive track record already, the Etowah phenom is on-pace to do immense things in the Peach State the next few years. |
|
Lio Garcia SS / OF / Buford, GA / 2028Polish, polish, polish is the immediate thought every time you see the Buford SS on the diamond. Above-average tools litter the profile everywhere you look while carrying one of more mature makeups you’ll see in the class. Garcia stands 6-foot-0, 160-pounds but plays 6-4 with twitch to maintain high-level athleticism as he matures. There’s actions and range paired with plus arm strength (90 IF Velo) that show an obvious path to Garcia giving you a 60+ glove at short at peak. All-field approach at the plate for the sophomore utilizing a well-connected RH swing with excellent zone coverage and minimal wasted effort in the path. Power is sneaky presently with the ability to generate 100+ EVs without selling out and could be in-line for more raw power as he matures physically. Expectations for Buford will be high with the roster they bring into 2026, and Garcia will be as vital to their success as you’ll find. |
|
Breck Hemphill OF / Harrison, GA / 2028On paper, Harrison comes into 2026 with one of most talented rosters in the state, and the addition of Hemphill adds to that greatly. Physical 6-foot-2, 205-pounds with real athleticism in the frame that was shown this summer/fall while roaming CF for Team Elite. Barrel accuracy really stood out for the outfielder with ability to manipulate the barrel in-zone while finding damage against both velocity and spin. Bat speed already stands out and with the frame only gaining strength by the day, the power potential for Hemphill is nothing short of substantial. All signs point to a huge upcoming spring for the outfielder and further solidify himself as a Top 75 player in the country. |
|
David Vargas SS / 2B / Cartersville, GA / 2028The stock for Vargas has only trended in one direction since the initial 2028 rankings dropped last December. Debuting at 57th overall, the talented shortstop ends an outstanding 2025 season as the 5th ranked player in the class. An everyday starter in a veteran lineup, Vargas looked the part consistently all spring long, including some huge hits en route to another Canes state championship berth. Syncs up extremely well at the plate, working from a longer setup that shows excellent plate coverage from a flat barrel through the zone. More hit over power in the profile currently but it’s an all-fields approach with great use of both gaps. A silky defender at short, Vargas shows tremendous range in all directions with impressive ability to bend and make accurate throws from multiple angles. High-floor tools everywhere you look with a significant ceiling to look towards if the progression stays on this track. |
|
Gavin Gebhardt SS / RHP / Cambridge, GA / 2028The growth that Gebhardt made throughout 2025 was one of the bigger standouts for our staff this year. The Cambridge sophomore has grown into a legit two-way talent with even more to look forward to. Working out of a near over-the-top slot, Gebhardt displays explosive arm speed on the mound with an equally explosive fastball. Working up to 91 this summer, living 87-90, the RHP generates effortless ride, averaging 20+” IVB and looking “invisible” at times when elevated. Command can waver but the potential in the pitch borders on future plus. Gebhardt mixes in two breaking balls with distinct shape while showing ability to spin and create S/M with both. Overall feel can take the pitch mix to another level as there’s still so much raw talent to unlock. At the plate, the SS shows advanced hip-to-shoulder separation that allows for great balance and ability to stay on-plane from the right side. Bat-to-ball skills carry the profile and lack of chase in the profile only strengthens that. Not a household name yet, but expect that to change quickly this upcoming spring. |
|
Thomas Gentry RHP / SS / Citizens Christian Academy, GA / 2028Gentry checked boxes all year long with huge performances on some of the biggest stages. A state champion as an everyday freshman with Citizens Christian, Gentry played a huge role both at the plate and on the mound with tools to point to a true two-way profile. Compact path from the right-side, Gentry shows both advanced feel for the barrel and zone that’s paired with budding strength in the 6-foot-0, 180-pound frame. Hit tool really stood out in the biggest settings and rarely will try to do too much at the plate while finding quality results. Has begun to add switch hitting to the profile as well, and will be something to watch this spring. A true competitor on the bump with projection to match. An impressive mover with easy repeatability from a three-quarters slot, the RHP attacks with a confident three-pitch mix. Fastball jumps out of the hand with carrying life while working in the high-80s to low-90s with more to come. Power curveball is going to be the out pitch for Gentry with ability to hold 12/6 shape well at 76-78. Changeup flashes at times at 81-83 and shows feel to land at will for strikes early in the count. A once hidden gem in South Georgia is making a statement in the class quickly. |
|
Zach Koons SS / RHP / Greater Atlanta Christian, GA / 2028Koons offers the type of profile you can bet on every single time. A gamer to the truest sense of the term with a plus glove and impressive bat-to-ball. The shortstop posted an outlandish 1.000 fielding percentage as an everyday freshman due to excellent instincts and range that allow for nearly any play to look routine. Accuracy plays from any angle and attacks balls with a confidence that makes you believe he’s going to make every play. It’s as high of a floor that you’ll find at the position. With the stick, Koons made big strides throughout the year, growing into some gap power to pair with already present bat-to-ball skills. Hands work very well in-zone and shows some ability to manipulate the barrel to match plane. There’s more to tap into at the plate, and we could see more of the growth in what looks to be a big upcoming spring for GAC. |
|
Rylan Jenkins OF / LHP / Washington County High School, GA / 2028Aside from being one of the fastest players in the class, Jenkins has a smattering of other high-level tools throughout the profile. A true CF with an explosive first step that leads to 6.4 speed and effortless range in the grass. Covers huge ground in all directions and rarely looks out of place attacking the ball. Hit tool has been well-known on the circuit for years but now starting to grow into some pop as well with legit strength in the powderkeg 5-foot-7, 165-pound frame. Leverages the ball well to the pull-side and will always to the gaps to let the speed thrive. This is the type of profile to cause absolute havoc from the leadoff spot for years to come. |
|
Gavin Greene C / 2B / Blessed Trinity Catholic, GA / 2028Georgia has been blessed with tremendous underclass catching talent the last few years and Greene fills that role with flying colors. It’s not everyday you see a freshman behind the plate every single day en route to a state championship but that’s exactly what Greene accomplished in 2025. As high-level of a baseball IQ that you’ll see at this age, Greene shows tremendous blocking and receiving while managing the game to the highest-level. Made some of the biggest plays for the Titans during the playoff run, and the confidence shown in those moments cannot be understated. Bat really came alive as the spring went on as well for Greene, showing some pull-side power as well as working deep counts consistently. The defense is still carrying the profile currently but will be a big factor in the lineup this upcoming spring and could take that next step to establish himself as one of the more well-rounded backstops in the country. |
Biggest Risers
Peyton Osheaski, RHP/1B, Gainesville (24th to 14th)
The path to Osheaski throwing certified fuel has been present for some time, but the RHP is starting to take that jump from thrower to pitcher and the ceiling is really starting to grow. Gangly 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with real projection remaining, Osheaski creates a tough downhill angle from a higher slot that allows his full mix to play up. Fastball is heavy with sharp arm-side run at 88-91 with tons more in the tank. Slider took the biggest stride this year as it became a swing-and-miss offering at 80-83 with late, horizontal break that creates depth well. Changeup shows good fade in the low-80s and will continue to grow as the feel matures. Set to be a huge piece for Gainesville this upcoming spring, Osheaski could make even more strides become an ever important summer.
Bryce Floyd, RHP, Holy Innocents (35th to 17th)
All Bryce Floyd did in 2025 was stand out time and time again. Exploded on the scene this spring with immense confidence showing in big spots for Holy Innocents and proceeded to carry that into a standout summer and fall campaigns. Floyd boasts whippy arm speed from a deceptive lower slot that’s paired with a high-level FB/SL combo that caused nightmares for opposing hitters. Working primarily 87-90, the RHP generates tremendous arm-side life that will consistently get on top of RHH while painting the outer half to lefties. Slider is a weapon already with huge horizontal sweep that can create swing-and-miss at 75-79 and has the makings of a potential plus offering down the road. Quickly becoming one of the need to know RHP in Georgia’s sophomore class.
Daelan Jones-Teasley, LHP, Parkview (55th to 24th)
We got a chance to see Daelan at Preseason All-State to kickoff the year in 2025. Then followed up with a couple looks throughout the season with Parkview. What was once a low 80’s arms that filled up the zone with the fastball is now approaching the low 90’s with a chance to be a real guy this spring and blow up on the Peach State baseball scene. The frame is there at a lean 6-foot with more strength to pack on. He will be one we get out to see early in 2026 and follow throughout the spring season.
Brantley Willis, RHP, Pierce County (88th to 42nd)
Willis had an eye opening performance at the UGA Campus Tour and really made his mark in this 2028 class as he heads into his sophomore year. What was most impressive was when we looked back at the progression we have seen over the last year. In March of 2024 he was 74-76, topping out at 78. In January of 2025 he was 81-82, and fast forward to November he is topping 88 and sitting mid 80’s. There has been added size but the intent and delivery has always been there for Willis and now he will continue to build. There is real feel for spin with the breaking ball so that’s just going to get better with time. He is going to be an arm to follow this spring for West Lauren’s.
Charles Survilas, CIF/RHP, Dunwoody (80th to 52nd)
One of the biggest winners of the Summer/Fall circuit was Survilas. Standing a physical 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, the RHH is armed with big-time strength in the box and immense impact in the barrel to match. Survilas shows an innate ability to sync up as he utilizes a high leg-kick load that allows him to stay balanced through the zone and generate a ton of strength from the ground-up. Works from a steep path with explosive hands through the zone and excellent pitch recognition to spray the ball to all parts of the field. Strong defensive makeup with high-level positional flexibility across the diamond as well. It’s a robust profile for Survilas and the Sophomore can help Dunwoody win in a multitude of ways this upcoming Spring.
Maddox Nuckols, SS/RHP, Augusta Christian (150th to 75th)
Nuckols is the type of player that just keeps getting better over time. The athletic actions have been there since we first saw, but now he is starting to add strength and really create impact in his game. There is 2 way upside with the chance to do both throughout his high school career. The velo on the mound is up 5-6mph from June to November with easy feel for spin and a smooth delivery that will continue to produce more velo.
Cole Johnson, 3B, Prince Ave Christian (174th to 89th)
We first saw Johnson back in the Spring with Prince Ave as he carried an everyday role and looked the part. Fast forward to this Fall where he impressed once again amongst staff at both the Prep Baseball Cup and Southeast Super Sophomore Games. Resulting in one of the biggest jumps in the rank and moving up 85 spots. Physical and broad-shouldered at 5-foot-10, 177-pounds with projection remaining and armed with an immense feel to hit. Johnson stays extremely simple at the plate in an advanced all-fields approach to match. The RHH shows fluid hands with ability to manipulate the barrel with present bat-to-ball and stays balanced through the zone. Johnson can flat out hit and looks to carry over a strong year into this upcoming Spring.
Brittain Holle, OF, Marietta (106th to 94th)
The Marietta OF performed in each look across the past calendar year resulting in moving up 12 spots in the rankings. Athletic and broad-shouldered at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds with present athleticism and well-connected RH cut. Simple actions allow for the RHH to stay balanced through the zone and create good length with the ability to generate easy carry to the pull-side with very minimal wasted effort. Shows impressive hands and keeps the barrel in the zone forever with excellent accuracy in the barrel. A 6.88 runner with good routes to the ball and present arm strength (82 OF Velo) will allow Holle a chance to stick in the OF long-term. There are strong tools across the board and a breakout sophomore campaign appears to be on the horizon.
Graham Langan, OF, Cherokee (111th to 100th)
It felt like Langan was on the barrel each time we looked up this Fall as he simply hit as well as anyone across this Fall circuit. Lean and athletic 6-foot-0, 178-pound frame with strength to project upon and present feel to hit. Langan stays simple at the plate with controlled, fast hands and creates tremendous length in-zone. Does a great job of hinging into his back hip with excellent balance and shifts weight really well through impact. Above-average feel for the barrel stands out backed by good pitch recognition that allow for Langan to do consistent damage in the zone in a g2g approach. A 6.87 runner with present athleticism and budding arm strength (80 MPH) will allow the sophomore to stick anywhere in the Warriors OF this year. Langan looks poised to carry a huge role with the Warriors this Spring and a sophomore campaign breakout seems likely.
Conner Adams, MIF, Denmark (163rd to 111th)
Adams is one of many sophomores on a loaded Denmark squad. It’s going to be hard for coach Corr to find a spot for all them with a strong junior and senior class ahead of them, but Adams saw time last year as a freshman and produced, so be on the lookout for more of the same in 2026. He can be a lock down defender anywhere in the dirt with smooth and athletic actions. There is added strength at the plate with feel for the barrel, so we could see an uptick in the numbers for Adams just a year ago.
Jackson Segars, OF, Jefferson (183rd to 118th)
Jackson Segars impressed all weekend at the plate for Ambush Baseball Scout. The sophomore outfielder consistently produced hard contact, especially during bracket play on Sunday. In the early game, Segars crushed two balls to opposite gaps, first a pull-side double that registered 90 mph off the bat and then a backside double that brought in a run at 89 mph. His approach is calm and controlled, keeping his hands tight to his body during the load while maintaining excellent rhythm. The swing shows advanced bat speed and a slight uphill path that creates natural loft, all while producing minimal in-zone whiff throughout the weekend. Defensively, Segars primarily played left field, displaying solid arm strength on throws to the bags and quickness when cutting off balls down the line. A name to keep an eye on in the coming summers, Segars will continue his development at Jefferson High School this coming spring. (10/14/25)
Jax Foust, SS/RHP, North Paulding (155th to 121st)
Foust made a lasting impression at the Southeast Super Sophomore games with multiple barrels in game play. There is obvious athleticism throughout with more on the way with added strength and size. There is gamer qualities throughout the profile with the ability to make the tough plays in the infield. The swing is simple and compact with a barrel path that stays in the zone for consistent contact. Look for Foust to play many different roles this spring for the wolf pack.
Wryson Davis, LHP, Newnan (180th to 143rd)
It was a brief look at the KSU Campus Tour, but Davis showcases a 3 pitch mix for strikes from the left side that will be a great addition for any team, but especially the defending state champs. He will be a great asset to go along with fellow lefty Hunter Holmstrom and Arkansas commit Hayes Maginnis. He operates in the low 80’s with a strong frame that projects more on the way. Looks for Davis to make a real impact this spring for Newnan.
