Centercourt Baseball Scout Day: Takeaways

On Sunday, October 12th the Prep Baseball New Jersey staff traveled to the Centercourt Dome, for the Centercourt Baseball Scout Day.

This event is always a great opportunity for us to get our eyes on the talented players within the Centercourt organization and this year's showcase proved to be a success.

We wanted to take the time to highlight a number of the standout players from the event in a Takeaways story, found below.

Position Players

SS Darien Quiceno (Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 2028) is a left-handed hitting middle infielder with a projectable frame of 6-foot and 160-pounds. He produced an exit velocity of 89.1 mph and an average exit velocity of 83.6 mph that was second best of the event. Defensively he threw 79 mph across the infield and displayed fluid, repeatable footwork. 

OF Aiden Luccarelli (Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 2027) produced the event's quickest sixty-yard dash time of 6.75, leading the pack by a lot. The athletic outfielder is 6-foot and 175-pounds and possesses a physical frame. He flashed an exit velocity of 91.5 mph and led the event in outfield arm strength with 85 mph. An all-around impressive performance. 

OF/C Edwin J Onyschak (Union Catholic, 2027) was a jack-of-all-trades during the Centercourt Baseball Scout Day. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound utility player was in the top 3 in multiple categories. Onyschak flashed a 7.04 sixty time, a 91.8 max exit velocity, threw 79 mph from the outfield, had a pop time of 2.10-2.18, and topped 79 mph off the mound as well. All-around performance from the 2027 grad. 

 

Two-way Players

 

 3B/RHP Luiggi Sacca (Union Catholic Regional, 2028) has a physical frame of 5-foot-11 and 195-pounds. The two-way prospect was a standout performer from both sides of the ball. Offensively, Sacca produced an event leading 95.1 mph exit velocity and an average exit velocity of 84.6 mph. From the mound he flashed a fastball that peaked at 82.1 mph and sat 80-82 mph. 


 

Pitchers

RHP Angel Estevez (East Orange Campus, 2026) is a 5-foot-10 and 160-pound right-handed pitcher with a lean, athletic frame. Estevez displayed a quick arm action with late arm acceleration. He flashed a fastball peaking at 79.3 mph and sat 77-79 mph. His changeup was 73-74 mph and his curveball was 67-70 mph and was spun up-to 2,369 rpm.
