Today we look at the top uncommitted pitching talent from the classes of 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2026

Sterling Reed RHP / OF / IMG Academy, MN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 62 / POS: 25 One of the most physical arms in the class, Reed stands a formidable 6-foot-4, 217 pounds and pairs that strength with a mid- to upper-80s fastball. He moves well down the slope with clean, athletic actions. With his size, athleticism, and current stuff, Reed offers big upside for a program ready to develop him.

Daschle Duwe RHP / OF / Minnetonka, MN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 64 / POS: 26 Duwe has shown steady growth over the past few years, making jumps across nearly every metric. What stands out most is the quality of his data: high spin, strong movement profiles, and a continued upward trajectory. Duwe’s trending development makes him an intriguing next-level addition.

Owen Krueger RHP / 1B / PEQUOT LAKES SENIOR HIGH, MN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 81 / POS: 34 A strong, physical right-hander at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Krueger impressed at his lone event in August 2024. He features a low- to mid-80s fastball, a firm slider, and feel for both a curveball and a changeup. His physicality and present arsenal make him an interesting follow in the class.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2027

Jackson Kolb RHP / SS / White Bear North Campus Senior, MN / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 2 A Future Games participant from White Bear Lake, Kolb runs his fastball into the upper 80s and shows advanced pitchability. He ranks No. 4 overall and is the No. 2 right-handed pitcher in Minnesota’s 2027 class.

Beckett Shimpa LHP / 1B / Maple Grove, MN / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 292 / POS: 29 Shimpa passes the eye test immediately at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds and attacks hitters from the left side. He has been up to 92 mph with his fastball, with more likely on the way. He has also taken steps forward offensively and shown the ability to handle corner outfield duties.

Eliot De Leon RHP / OF / Acellus, MN / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 6 De Leon has shown steady growth year after year and now sits No. 14 overall and No. 6 among pitchers in the 2027 class. He’s taken a big step forward in pitchability, working in the mid to upper 80s with solid metrically graded secondary offerings. He’s firmly among the top uncommitted arms in the class.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2028

Cooper Sanders RHP / 3B / Centennial, MN / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 64 / POS: 15 The top-ranked prospect in the class, Sanders already reaches the low 90s with his fastball. He’s advanced for his age with clear room for continued development. If he continues to build consistency across the board, the hard-throwing righty will remain high on recruiting boards.

Wyatt Gelineau RHP / 1B / Eagan Senior High, MN / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 2 Gelineau emerged last winter at a Preseason ID and has since cemented himself as one of the top arms in the class. He works in the mid 80s from a unique slot and shows feel for secondary pitches. With added growth ahead, his ceiling remains high.

Ian Adams RHP / 3B / Orono Senior High, MN / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 4 A large, physical presence on the mound, Adams impressed at an Open event this summer. He features a mid-80s fastball with life and moves well down the mound for his size. With a strong offseason, he has a chance to make a significant jump.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2029

Connor Flanagan LHP / OF / Saint Thomas Academy, MN / 2029 Rankings  OverallRank: 95 / POS: 7 Flanagan offers advanced size for his age, and as a left-hander, he becomes even more intriguing. He already sits in the low 80s with a developing breaking ball and was one of the top performers on Team Minnesota’s Junior Futures roster last August.
