Inland Empire Fall ID: Positional Analysis

On Sunday, October 26th, the Prep Baseball California staff traveled to Corona High School in Corona, CA for the Inland Empire Fall ID. This event was host to over 20 prospects from California, and gave our staff a personal look at everyone in attendance.

Today, we are taking a look at all of the position players from the day with their scouting reports and a top-10 event ranking, below.

TOP POSITION PLAYERS

1. Luke Severns, Etiwanda High (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: C/2B
Body: 5-9, 164-pounds. Projectable frame with room to fill.
Hit: LHH. Athletic, balanced setup with relaxed hands with knob pointing at 3B before getting into the typical load position. Moderate leg lift into stride, creating rhythm and separation. Aggressive, uphill swing path designed to drive the ball in the air. Consistent barrel control with loud contact to all fields. 64.6 mph bat speed with 16g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (83.2 avg.); 341-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. Quick arm from a three-quarter slot with a short, efficient release and good accuracy to the bag.
Defense: 2.03-2.18 pop time range; One-knee setup, soft hands, and smooth gather into throws. Strong receiver with controlled actions and consistent tempo.
Athletic Testing: 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.
