Arizona Class of 2028: Winter Rankings Update
December 2, 2025

As the fall season wraps up and players head into their winter work, we’re excited to roll out our latest update to the Arizona Class of 2028 Player Rankings. This edition expands to a Top 50, a reflection of how deep and competitive this class has become. Several players continued to trend upward throughout the fall, while new faces impressed and earned their way onto the list.

Our evaluation process never stops. Between live game looks, showcase data, and conversations with coaches and scouts across the state, we work to keep these rankings as accurate and up to date as possible. Players develop at different speeds, and movement on the board is simply a reflection of that growth. With winter training underway and the spring season around the corner, expect even more names to make noise in Arizona’s 2028 class.

THE TOP-10 IN THE CLASS OF 2028 ⭐

Ian Palumbo OF / LHP / Brophy Prep, AZ / 2028Ian holds onto the top spot in Arizona’s 2028 class, and it is easy to see why. He checks a lot of early boxes with a long, athletic frame and a left left profile that immediately jumps out. Ian moves well in the outfield with fluid actions and plenty of arm strength, and his left handed swing shows natural lift with power that continues to trend upward. With his combination of athleticism, versatility, and long term projection, Ian carries the look of a high end prospect at the top of this class.

Cooper LeRoy RHP / 1B / Mesquite, AZ / 2028Cooper has quickly emerged as the top pitching prospect in Arizona’s 2028 class. At 6 foot 3 with long levers and a loose, whippy arm, he brings big projection and already shows advanced velocity for his age. His athletic delivery and easy operation suggest even more jumps ahead as he continues to mature. While he offers two way potential with real strength in the bat, Cooper’s highest ceiling is on the mound, where he profiles as one of the premier young arms in the state.

Chase Fillman OF / LHP / Millennium, AZ / 2028Chase brings a strong left left profile with advanced physicality and real impact potential in the bat. His swing is simple, smooth, and powerful, allowing him to drive the ball with authority and project as a future middle of the order presence. Defensively he fits well in a corner outfield spot, and his arm strength adds some versatility. On the mound he has flashed high 80s velocity with a competitive edge, making him a legitimate two way follow. With his size, strength, and confident look in the box, Chase stands out as one of the top power bats in Arizona’s 2028 class.

Sammy Garcia SS / RHP / Hamilton, AZ / 2028Sammy continues to show why he is one of the most competitive players in the class, standing out for his instincts, energy, and two way ability. He is a natural fit up the middle with smooth actions, quick hands, and plenty of arm strength to stay on the dirt long term. At the plate, his compact right handed swing is geared for line drive contact with fast hands and a confident look in the box. On the mound, he pounds the zone with a lively fastball and mixes in his secondary pitches with feel, showing maturity beyond his years. Sammy’s grit, athleticism, and impact on both sides of the ball make him one of the more exciting young prospects in Arizona.

Peyton Burgess C / RHP / Millennium, AZ / 2028Peyton stands out as one of the top young catchers in the state, bringing switch hitting ability, power potential, and a strong defensive foundation. At 6 foot 2 with an athletic frame, he shows a loose, easy swing from both sides and consistently drives the ball with authority. Behind the plate he continues to progress as a defender, showing arm strength, improving footwork, and the actions to stay at the position long term. His combination of size, athleticism, and offensive upside gives him one of the higher ceilings in Arizona’s 2028 class.

Andres Armenta OF / RHP / Casteel, AZ / 2028Andres continues to show why he is one of the more dynamic bats in the class, showcasing advanced bat to ball skills and the ability to drive the ball to all fields with consistency. His athleticism shows up in the outfield as well, where he moves well, covers ground, and flashes a strong arm. Offensively he profiles as a top of the order type who can impact a game right away, and his steady performance throughout the year has firmly established him as a top ten player in Arizona’s 2028 class.

Troy Tewers 3B / RHP / Liberty High School, AZ / 2028Troy is one of the most polished defenders in Arizona’s 2028 class, showing smooth glove work, steady hands, and advanced actions at third base. At the plate he swings with intent, creating quick bat speed and emerging gap power that should continue to climb as he adds strength. On the mound he provides even more value with a clean, controlled delivery and mid 80s velocity. A steady performer with true two way impact, Troy has the tools and makeup to remain an important follow in this class.

Kingston Sinner OF / SS / Brophy Prep, AZ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 4
Kingston is one of the more athletic prospects in the class, offering a 6 foot 2 frame with strength and wiry actions that immediately stand out. In the outfield he moves with confidence and covers ground well, backed by a 90 mile per hour arm that makes him a real weapon defensively. At the plate he sets up tall and shows the ability to control the barrel, driving the ball to all fields with growing impact. With his athleticism, arm strength, and offensive upside, Kingston brings one of the higher ceilings in Arizona’s 2028 group.

Reid Holtorf SS / 2B / Liberty, AZ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 2
Reid stands out for his athleticism and polish in the middle infield, moving with rhythm, body control, and smooth actions that allow him to stay up the middle. He shows quick twitch traits and a confident glove, giving him steady defensive value. Offensively, the right handed hitter creates good separation with balance and consistently drives the ball gap to gap, with more power likely to come as he continues to mature. Reid’s well rounded skill set and reliability make him one of the stronger young infielders in Arizona’s 2028 class.

Briggs is a left handed hitter with a short, quick stroke that stays through the zone and produces consistent line drive contact. His actions on the dirt are clean and controlled, showing soft hands, a quick transfer, and the ability to stay in rhythm defensively. A steady performer with polish on both sides of the ball, Briggs’ balanced game and reliability make him a strong follow in Arizona’s 2028 class.
