TEMPE, AZ — On Sunday, December 7th, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff hosted the Tempe Fall ID at Mountain Pointe High School, featuring prospects from the 2030 through 2026 classes.
Each participant received a complete Prep Baseball profile update that included a headshot, video, showcase statistics, and advanced data analysis. With profiles viewed by more than 900 college programs across the country, the event provided meaningful exposure while giving our staff an in depth look at the group. This Quick Hits article highlights the handful of players that stood out and caught our attention throughout the day.

Luke Hutton SS / 1B / Desert Vista, AZ / 2026Luke showed up ready to hit, finding barrels early and often with a relaxed rhythm and controlled moves. He backed it up with steady defense and a clean arm. A really nice day for him and another step forward in his game.

Chasen Niemann OF / LHP / Saguaro, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 69 / POS: 18
Chasen brought a confident presence, finding barrels with authority and showing real power potential to both sides of the field. The athleticism showed up on defense too with smooth footwork and a lively arm. Just a complete day all around for him.

Kale Thorson SS / 3B / Red Mountain, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 58 / POS: 16
Kale’s actions on the dirt stood out right away, staying smooth through the ball and firing strong throws across the field. At the plate he kept everything simple and on time, finding firm contact through the middle. Easy player to like with how naturally the game comes to him.

Luis Acuña SS / 2B / Desert Vista, AZ / 2027Luis brought a simple, controlled approach at the plate and turned in one of the more consistent rounds of contact on the day. He looked comfortable in the infield with soft hands and smooth footwork that kept him in rhythm. A steady all around performance from a player who continues to develop. |

Zach Hull LHP / OF / Horizon Honors Secondary School, AZ / 2026Zach showed a quick, athletic arm and lived in the low 80s with a fastball that had some real life to it. His slider had late bite, and the changeup played well off the heater. Good look at a left hander who seems to be trending up. |

Zharius McAllister 1B / RHP / Campo Verde, AZ / 2027Zharius brought some of the louder contact of the day, attacking pitches with fast hands and real intent while driving balls to both gaps. He looked comfortable at first base with steady footwork and a clean transfer. Big strength in the bat and plenty of upside as he keeps tightening up the details.

Michael Hallenbeck C / RHP / Desert Vista, AZ / 2026Michael’s catching work was a bright spot, staying controlled in his movements and letting his quick arm handle the rest. At the plate he showed grit fighting through a hand injury and enough feel to still square balls up when his timing was right. Quiet worker who keeps putting together quality reps.

Owen McSorley OF / RHP / Notre Dame Prep, AZ / 2027Owen’s athleticism stood out across the board, from how well he ran to the way he moved through balls in the outfield with a strong arm behind it. His bat worked on time with flashes of loud contact, and he carried that same looseness to the mound with a competitive fastball and a sharp breaking ball. Really solid look at a player with a lot of tools to grow into. |

Alec Olivas OF / RHP / Catalina Foothills, AZ / 2027Alec put together a complete showing, barreling balls with ease and flashing real pop to both sides of the field. His actions in the outfield were smooth and under control, and his speed showed up throughout the workout. Easy to like the tools and how well they translate on the field.

Emilio Palacio 3B / SS / Sunnyslope, AZ / 2027Emilio showed some real strength in the bat, driving balls with a calm, balanced swing and flashing juice to both gaps. He stayed under control on the dirt and made the routine plays with a steady tempo. Strong offensive upside as he keeps tightening up the defensive details. |

Tobyn Phillips RHP / OF / Flagstaff High School, AZ / 2027Tobyn’s strength showed up early, launching balls to the pull side and showing the type of bat speed that can do damage. He handled balls well in the outfield and his arm played with carry to the target. He then hopped on the mound and filled the zone with a fastball in the mid 80s and a quality breaking ball he could land for strikes. |

Mathias Slethaug OF / RHP / Chaparral, AZ / 2027Mathias found a handful of firm barrels during BP, working mostly to the middle and showing some natural lift in the swing. His arm strength jumped out immediately, producing some of the harder throws we saw from the outfield. With continued reps on the defensive side, there is plenty to like in his overall profile.

Tristan Talbert OF / 1B / Red Mountain, AZ / 2027Tristan’s BP round really stood out, showing rhythm, looseness, and the ability to backspin balls with authority. His outfield work matched the quality, moving through the ball with control and putting throws right on the bag. A steady, well rounded performer who keeps trending up.

Michael Bridgeman C / Desert Vista, AZ / 2029Michael impressed behind the plate with clean catch and throw actions and consistent pops around the two flat range. His swing stayed simple and athletic, finding enough barrels to show his feel for the box. A young catcher with a solid foundation to build on. |

Gus Minor OF / 2B / Horizon Honors Secondary School, AZ / 2029Gus put together a solid BP round, staying balanced and spraying line drives to both gaps with a simple, repeatable move. Defensively he worked to stay on line and delivered accurate throws throughout the workout. He also jumped on the mound and showed a fastball with some ride to it and run along with a tight slider that gave him another look. |

Jack Haines OF / RHP / Pinnacle, AZ / 2030Jack put together one of the more polished BP rounds in his age group, staying balanced and driving consistent contact through the middle. His outfield work was steady with a quick release and throws that held their line. He also flashed feel on the mound, mixing a carry fastball with a reliable breaker for strikes.

Finlee Wert RHP / 3B / Paradise Valley High School, AZ / 2029Finlee brought a different style to the mound, working with tempo changes and a loose three quarter arm slot that added deception to everything he threw. His mix of fastball, curveball, and slider all showed flashes, especially when he got them out front. A fun follow as he continues to develop physically and refine the delivery. |
