Washington Uncommitted Spotlight - '26 C Roman Rodriguez
November 17, 2025
As we move through the offseason, Prep Baseball Washington features an Uncommitted Spotlight, where we highlight standout performers that attended a Prep Baseball ID event this year. Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.
This week, we spotlight '26 C Roman Rodriguez. The backstop out of Ingraham High School was seen at the Seattle Fall ID, where he posted mid-90's exit velocities and a 2.01 second pop time.
Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including scouting reports and video from the event.

Scouting Report
Roman Rodriguez, Ingraham, 2026
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Upright, narrow base in stance with weight evenly distributed. Hands tighter to frame with knob pointed at the catcher. Barrel stays horizontal as hands retract through load and stride widens base. Flatter bat path through the zone. Head down through contact with a firm front side and a controlled, tighter two-handed finish. 70 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94.4 max exit velocity, averaged 84.6 mph. 292' max distance.
Arm: RH. C: 71 MPH, 2.01-2.20 pop time. Slight cross-body action with 3/4 slot release.
Defense: Works from a more narrow 1KD setup, working to stick upward through frames with flexion in wrist. Minimal wasted movement. Stays 1KD for throws down with offset feet. Adjustable catch and throw with quicker release and controlled decel.
ATH: 7.21 runner in the 60. 1.68 and 3.95 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
