Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 RHP/SS Chase Slotcavage (North Schuylkill)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

This 2028 prospect was a standout performer at the Pennsylvania State Games this past summer. Slotcavage showed his high-level position player skillset and his high-level pitching skillset. This two-way prospect has a physical, athletic frame of 5-foot-10 and 189-pounds.

On the mound, Slotcavage has a longer arm action that generates the arm speed he needs to produce his 87-mph fastball. His fastball is typical 84-86 mph with a maximum of 19 inches of horizontal movement and 18 inches of horizontal movement. His slider is gripped with a spiked index finger and throws it 73-76 mph with north of 2,100 rpm spin rate. In gameplay, Slotcavage filled up the strike zone with his whole arsenal, and he induced in-zone and out-of-zone whiffs on his fastball and slider.

Offensively, the metrics that he has produced stand out and separate him as a top two-way prospect in the Keystone State. He has produced a max exit velocity of 95.8 mph, and average exit velocity of 84.5 mph, and a max distance of 352 feet. Slotcavage hits with a moderate leg kick that is synchronized with his hand load. He has loose wrists that help the barrel accelerate through contact.

Overall, this two-way prospect from the Keystone State is a player to watch. He is a smooth mover with athletic movement patterns in the field and on the mound. His swing is refined and repeatable. Key an eye on this prospect.
