Georgia Class of 2028 Rankings: Winter Additions
December 3, 2025
The Class of 2028 only continues to get stronger here in the Peach State.
After an exciting fall at Lakepoint as well as four talented Campus Tour events, we saw this list expand to 275 total, adding over 50 names since our last update in September.
Yesterday, we took a detailed look at the Top 10 and some of the biggest risers in the class, and now we look at some of the notable additions to this talent-rich sophomore class. To check that article out CLICK HERE
Ryan Burgess Jr., SS, Hillgrove
Out of all the Campus Tour stops, there were few athletes who made a bigger instant impact than Burgess. Tools littered the profile in a twitchy 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame that fits the recent Hillgrove profile to a tee. An explosive first step in the 60 helped lead to tying for the best time of the day at 6.51, and shows the athleticism to maintain that speed long-term. Simple, compact RH swing stays well-balanced with ability to find the barrel regularly in the gap-to-gap approach. Positional versatility in premium spots with actions and tools to profile in the middle infield or CF as he develops. Can emerge as a valuable piece for the Hawks this spring.
Shane Walls, RHP, Clarke Central
With an XL, high-waisted 6-foot-5, 200-pound frame, Walls is the definition of projection in Georgia’s 2028 class. A quality mover who’s added strength and body control to the wiry frame throughout the year and really stacked quality outings in the fall. Good carrying life on a mid-80s fastball from a lower three-quarters slot and going to add velo in a hurry as the physical maturity builds. Slider shows sweep in the mid-to-high 70s and mixes in a changeup at 78-80 with fade out of the same fastball tunnel. Chance to be a vital piece on the mound for Clarke Central this upcoming spring and will be a name to know in the class quickly.
Perfect appearance in relief from 2028 LHP Cooper Rice (Jones County) to hold the tie.

Dylan Catherwood, RHP/3B, Kings Ridge Christian
Catherwood opened the Campus Tour series with a bang as he displayed a highly Projectable two-way profile on a cold morning at North Georgia. Long and lean at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds, the RHP showed excellent repeatability with a strong three-pitch mix to back it up. Fastball lives in the low-to-mid 80s now but future velo is easy to see. At the plate, Catherwood stays well-connected and compact in a gap-to-gap approach that shows budding feel for the barrel. Kings Ridge has been producing quality pieces year in and year out, and the sophomore looks next in line to fill that role.
Todd Raleigh Jr., C, Rabun Gap
Everett Hammond, OF, Dunwoody
With Dunwoody losing some key veterans from last year's squad, the Wildcats will be looking for players to step up and Hammond looks poised for impact. A sub-6.0 runner, the OF shows good routes in the grass with an accurate arm plays to all bags. Well-leveraged LH cut generates easy raw power at a young age, and could be a carrying tool as he continues to develop physically in an athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. Good name to remember for colleges as the spring follow lists start to build.
Josiah Woods, C, Georgia Premier Academy
Multiple good looks this fall at the physical backstop who features strong tools on both sides. Stout 5-foot-11, 192-pound frame shows good flexibility in the crouch with advanced blocking and an accurate arm. Woods will get to the barrel with ease at the plate, letting the hands work well in an on-plane path while generating real strength from the ground up. Quality raw power potential with present pull-side carry. Name to look out for the spring in the newly formed ABA.
Duggan Malone, SS, West Laurens
Jackson Beasley, RHP/IF, Jefferson
Charlie Edwards, 2B, North Forsyth
Potent start to the weekend for 2028 2B Charlie Edwards.

Will Walker, OF, Coffee
Walker came out this fall and showed a well-rounded, high-floor profile that can provide immediate impact for Coffee this upcoming spring. Athletic with plenty of room to add physically at a lean 5-foot-10, 135-pounds. Simple actions at the dish with good ability to maintain balance and keeps the barrel in-zone forever. Chance for a quality hit tool if the development stays on this path. Corner OF profile defensively where he shows good footwork and enough arm strength to make all the throws necessary. South Georgia produces gamer profiles at a high rate and Walker can fit that profile to a tee.

Owen Patterson, C/SS, North Forsyth
The hit tool shined all Fall long for Patterson and the sophomore looks to carry it over into this Spring. Present athleticism in the 5-foot-10 frame with strength to project. Patterson stays well-connected and keeps his hands back to create excellent length in-zone with above-average feel for the barrel and ability to drive the ball to both gaps with authority. Utilizes a toe-tap load to sync up and get on time with present bat speed and does a great job of staying balanced through impact. Tremendous pitch recognition with very minimal chase in an advanced approach to match. Athletic actions behind the plate stand out with strong blocking and receiving with plenty more to project in the 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame and excellent positional versatility. It's a robust profile for Patterson and with a productive Spring the North Forsyth product could earn a massive jump up in the rankings.
Wilson Lillard, 3B/1B, Milton
Lillard was a standout performer this Fall as he impressed on both sides of the ball. At the plate, the RHH boasts big-time strength in the ultra-physical 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame with immense impact in the barrel to match. Stays simple and delivers a well-leveraged barrel with explosive hands in-zone. Creates excellent hip-to-shoulder separation with great balance and generates a ton of strength from the ground-up. On the mound, Lillard works from a higher ¾ slot with present arm speed and creates easy drive down the mound. Fastball heavy approach and lived in the mid 80s (T87 MPH) with a curveball used in the low 70’s. There is plenty more to project for Lillard on both the mound and at the plate and he has a chance to see quality time this Spring with Milton.
Jacob Sherrill, 1B/LHP, Milton
The two-way ability was clear to see for Sherrill in one of our first looks at the Milton sophomore during the fall. Physical 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with present strength and a well-connected LH cut. A quick to-tap load allows Sherrill to get on time as he gets into his lower half well and works from a compact path with fast hands and stays well-balanced through the zone. On the mound, the southpaw shows good body control with repeatability in the delivery and some whip present to the arm action. Fastball lives in the low 80's with command throughout and curveball creates depth at 68-70. Sherrill has a chance to pop this Spring with the ability to carve out a two-way role for the Eagles.
Markus Galins, OF, Kings Ridge
Galins burst onto the scene this Fall during the UnderClass Fall World Series as the Kings Ridge OF looked the part in the box. Stands a wiry, athletic 6-foot-2, 155-pounds with much more to project. The RHH syncs up extremely well with excellent body control as he utilizes a toe-tap load into a hanging trigger. Loose wrists stand out with present barrel feel and ability to manipulate to find consistent contact throughout the zone. Galins stays well-leveraged through the zone with ability to take what the pitcher gives him and spray the ball line to line in a mature approach. Galins has a chance to be a name to know with the Tigers this Spring.
Aaron Higgins, OF, Kennesaw Mountain
We got multiple looks at Higgins this fall and it was setting the tone at the top of the order for the Kennesaw Generals game after game. He can go get it in CF with a strong first step and feel to hit at the dish. Look for Higgins to play a big role for Kennesaw Mountain this spring.
