Then and Now
We first saw Malone in the showcase setting back in June of 2024 at the Central Georgia Summer ID. Fast forward to the fall and he finished off his 2025 with us at the Fall Campus Tour Series at Georgia Southern. His numbers were up across the board, but what stood out most was his hitting numbers. He went from a max exit velocity of 82.1 in June of 2024 to 90.8 in November. His average exit velocity was up nearly 7mph. Athletic actions in the dirt as well with budding arm strength as he increased his INF velo 5 MPH from 73 MPH to now 78 MPH across the diamond. Malone put together a quality look on the mound with present pitchability and moves really well down the mound followed by a quick arm from a shorter arm action. Feel for a deep 4-pitch mix and fastball lived in the low 80's at 81-83. Looks poised to carry a huge role this upcoming Spring with the Raiders after posting an impressive freshman campaign on both sides of the ball in '25.

Delivery: Consistent mechanics and hides the baseball well.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 Release. 75-76 CH plays well of the FB. Incorporated a low 70's slider with some bite and late action. Also flashed a low 70's knuckleball with interesting action and tumble.
FB: T83, 82-83 mph. Ride traits and plays well up in zone. T2206, 2154 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. T2423, 2388 average rpm.
CH: 75-77 mph. T1521, 1445 average rpm.
KN: 71-72 mph.

Hit: RHH. Level stance with calm hand rhythm. Flat barrel path with gap-to-gap approach. Keeps hands close to body up to contact and sees pitches well, especially up in the zone. 65.8 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 82.9 mph. 335' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Good arm strength.
Defense: INF - Fluid mover with efficient arm release; does a good job creating force within his lower half to incorporate arm strength.
