The North Jersey prospect was on Team New Jersey for the East Coast Super Sophomore Games this past summer. Gaven is a wiry, athletic two-way prospect with a frame of 5-foot-10 and 148-pounds. 

Offensively, Gaven was a standout performer on Team New Jersey as he played with an unmatched effort and hustle on every play. He grinded out every at-bat and made the pitcher earn each and every pitch. He hits from an up-right position and loads with a moderate scap load while syncing up his upper and lower body together. His max exit velocity is 89.5 mph and produced a sweet-spot percentage of 64 percent. He has shown barrel control in both showcase BP and in gameplay as well.

On the mound, Gaven pitches with the same gamer and competitive mindset that he hits with. He has flashed an arsenal with an 80-83 mph fastball, a 68-71 mph curveball, and a 74-75 mph changeup. During gameplay, he displayed his ability to locate all three pitches against all hitters, including throwing a right versus right changeup and executing the pitch. With his current pitch-ability, expect Gaven to make leaps over this offseason as he adds to his frame.
