PROSPECT PULSE - SPRING 2026 BREAKOUT BRIGADE

Jack Trudeau OF / C / Orchard Park SS, ON / 2027Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 8
Trudeau caught our staff's eye in January of 2025 when we went into a team practice to watch hitters and fielders before we kicked off the preseason. Standing 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, there was evident strength at impact to his pull-side. He carried that into the showcase season where we saw Trudeau post a top exit velocity of 94.8 mph and a 313 ft top distance via trackman. Trudeau also posted an above average 86 mph OF velo and ran a 4.0 30-yard dash. Trudeau flashed his upside in 2025 and with development over the offseason, he could be a bat that pops in 2026.

Labi Topaltsis SS / RHP / East York Collegiate Institute, ON / 2027Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 3
A shorter stature at 5-foot-9, 157-pounds, but there is looseness to the arm to go along with high-spin stuff. Topaltsis gets his fastball in the mid-upper 80’s (2540+), spring the curveball in a 68-72 (2840+), and rounds out his arsenal with a 75-77 mph change-up. It will be interesting to see the development of Topaltsis as he now gets a full winter of development under one of Canada's top programs and is a name college coaches should check-in on over the winter.

Brett Rienguette SS / RHP / Northwest Christian School, ON / 2027Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 5
Rienguette, 5-foot-9, 176-pounds, caught some attention at the Mississauga Preseason Invite last spring after we hadn’t had eyes on him since the 2023 season. There is natural loft to the left-handed swing with intent that lived pull-side throughout his rounds with a 95.3 mph max exit velocity, 340 ft max distance, and a 36.4 hard hit %. Still developing on the defensive side of things, we’re looking forward to an updated look at Rienguette in the spring.

Ben Laughlin 1B / RHP / Glebe Collegiate Institute, ON / 2028Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 2
Towering frame that immediately stands out at 6-foot-7, 215-pounds, Laughlin put together a strong overall campaign in 2025. Jolted up our rankings throughout the summer with power-potential from the right-side, which was shown off frequently throughout summer at the NY State Games, Prep Baseball tournaments, and at the Rogers Centre where he posted a 99.3 max exit velocity. We expect Laughlin to take another step forward this spring as a top power bat in the class.

Felix Chown OF / 3B / Neil McNeil, ON / 2027Rankings StateRank: 48 / POS: 15
Chown is an interesting prospect at an athletic 6-foot-3, 185-pounds as a L/L outfielder. At the summer invite event in early July, the frame stood out along with a strong performance on the day with a 89.3 mph max ev, 88 mph OF velo, and running a VALD certified 6.89 60-yard dash. In the box, Chown is still raw, but there is a ton of upside with the athleticism and the bat will continue to get better with another winter of development. Our staff is eager to see how his game trends heading into the spring season.
