Minnesota Summer Standouts on the Prep Baseball Tournament Circuit: Class of 2026

Kyle Rodriguez
Scout, Upper Midwest

MINNESOTA - This year’s summer circuit was filled with high-end talent, showcasing many of the Midwest’s top prospects. As we begin to turn the calendar toward the new year, we wanted to highlight the Minnesota players who maximized their opportunities and consistently stood out across multiple tournaments. These athletes not only performed at a high level, but also separated themselves in ways that deserve recognition.

Today we look at standouts from the class of 2026 who grabbed our scouts' attention.

CLASS OF 2026

Connor Finn LHP / OF / Mahtomedi Senior High, MN / 2026

From 6/26/25:
“The No. 9-ranked player in the state of Minnesota for the 2026 class, Finn had one of the most impressive weekends we have seen this summer. Getting the start Saturday morning, the big left-hander tossed a complete game gem, going seven innings, allowing two runs on one hit, and two walks, while striking out 15. The lean, long-limbed 6-foot-3, 201-pound frame had complete control filling up the zone with an elite three-pitch mix. Showcasing swing and miss stuff with the fastball sitting 88-90 mph playing at the top of the zone, the slider sitting 76-77 mph with sweep, and the changeup sitting 75-76 mph with arm-side fade. It’s a mature and confident approach on the mound from repeatable easy motion, with a loose arm from the ¾ slot that glides through catching velo with ease. Now, while primarily catching eyes on the mound, Finn can also swing it as a top lefty bat in the state of Minnesota, ending his weekend 8-for-15 with two home runs, one double, three walks, and seven RBIs. Standing tall in the box with preston rhythm in the hands, Finn has a simple swing with a long uphill path, generating natural power from his big frame. Throughout the entire weekend, there was clear confidence and feel for the barrel in the box. One of the remaining top uncommitted prospects in the class of 2026, Connor Finn, will be a name to know and follow in the years to come.”

Lucas Langin RHP / OF / Waconia High School, MN / 2026

From 7/17/25: “The St. Thomas commit. A high-waisted, wiry 6-foot, 170-pound frame, Langin was dominant on the mound Saturday afternoon. The right-hander tossed four innings, allowing one earned run, on three hits and one walk, while striking out eight. A fluid high knee tuck motion, working down hill on a line, Langin was working with a solid two-pitch mix. The fastball was sitting 85-88 mph, 2300-2400 RPM, and the curveball was sitting 72-75 mph. The arm works loose, getting full exertion on the backend, coming through from a ¾ slot. Pairing both pitches well off each other, Langin was able to create unbalanced at-bats with late swings.”

Culley Ohm 1B / 3B / Waconia High School, MN / 2026

From 7/17/25: “The St. Thomas commit. A powerful 6-foot, 199-pound frame, Ohm was all over the barrel Saturday afternoon. The right-handed bat went 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two home runs. A simple approach in the box, Ohm sets up with a neutral base with strong hands working quick through the zone. Shows control of the zone, only attacking pitches he can handle. Ohm uses his frame to his advantage, able to drive the ball to the pull-side with ease.”

Chase Bjorgaard OF / RHP / Edina, MN / 2026

From 7/19/25: “Uncommitted, ranked No. 36 in the Minnesota class of 2026. A built, 5-foot-11, 215-pound frame, Bjorgaad showed well with the bat Saturday afternoon, going 1-for-3 with a triple. It's an athletic, open setup from the left-hander's batter’s box. A two-tap trigger, working down the box, followed by hands that explode through the zone, creating a flat, direct path through the ball. Able to do damage to the pull-side. Also, an athletic, hard runner out of the box, able to get to his top speed early and with ease.”

Owen Strey SS / RHP / Chaska High School, MN / 2026

From 7/19/25: “Creighton committed and ranked No. 7 in the state of Minnesota class of 2026. A long-limed, wiry, 6-foot-2, 192-pound frame, Strey gave a good look with the bat Saturday afternoon. Going 1-for-3 with a three-run bomb. Setting up the right-hander has a slightly open base, with present rhythm in his hands. Strey creates separation and a strong uphill path, able to create loft with ease. The power comes easily and will only continue to grow, and he continues to fill out his frame.”

Trevor Quam OF / LHP / Hill Murray School, MN / 2026

From 7/19/25: “Uncommitted. Possessing a twitchy 5-foot-7, 140-pound frame with some strength present throughout, Quam showed some easy pull-side power during Thursday’s pool play games. The left-handed hitter worked out of a simple setup, starting with his weight on his back foot, with strong hands into a compact swing, displaying quick bat and hand speed. Quam went 2-for-2 at the plate, sending a pull-side shot down the right field line for a home run. An uncommitted athletic outfielder in Minnesota’s 2026 class to follow.”
