North Carolina Class of 2026 — Rankings Update

The North Carolina Class of 2026 Rankings have been updated, with this release expanding to the Top 375 players in the state. This update brings 10+ new names into the mix and reflects a lighter adjustment cycle compared to the post-summer overhaul and the significant reshuffling that will come after the Preseason NC Events.

As always, the goal is to provide a transparent snapshot of the class as it stands today. Each update begins with adding all evaluated players into the rankings database. Player grades—paired with a confidence rating—are used to blindly sort the board, with names and schools removed to eliminate bias. Players are then grouped and stacked by their individual tools before names and information are added back for final adjustments.

Once the overall board is set, positional rankings are built based on those placements and each player’s identified primary position. After this process is completed, the rankings are edited and posted to the site.

At the top of the class, a handful of pro-prospect–driven opportunities led to movement inside the Top 30. We will have more coverage on those adjustments later this week. One of the biggest notes from this cycle centers on the state’s No. 1 player — Chase Kiker — who strengthened his hold on the top spot with a standout week in Miami.

The preseason and spring will bring significant opportunities for players across the board to climb, especially with the MLB Draft entering the conversation for the first time for many in the 2026 class.

Kiker Solidifies with His All-American Game Performance

Chase Kiker (RHP/OF, Metrolina Christian Academy, Clemson commit) continues to validate his status as one of the nation’s premier 2026 prospects. At the Prep Baseball All-American Game, Kiker showed a very high level of pitchability, attacking some of the top hitters in the country with a mix that created real discomfort and consistent swing-and-miss.

His week in Miami also elevated his profile as a position player. Kiker showed quality feel during BP with the ability to drive the baseball with intent. While his long-term outlook today leans highest on the mound, several evaluators believe there is legitimate offensive upside, giving him a unique dual-value path into the spring.

Kiker will open his 2026 campaign at the Prep Baseball Super 60, the premier preseason MLB Draft showcase.

Two Big Names Missing from the Top 10

Roster movement across high school baseball continues to evolve, and the 2026 class reflects that trend. While many players reclass backward, increasing the average age of each grad class, two of North Carolina’s top prospects have instead elected to head forward into college early.

  • Christian Serrano (SS, Pro5 Academy)
Former Top 5 player in NC. Serrano will enroll at NC State in January.
  • Amos Rich (RHP, Tuscola HS)
Former Top 10 player in the state. Rich has signed with UNC and will also enroll in January.

Both players have publicly announced their decisions, and their early departures opened notable space inside the updated Top 10.

Uncommitted Players Who Will Impact Rosters

North Carolina typically sees around 400 seniors commit to play college baseball each year. With 236 commitments currently tracked in the 2026 class, significant movement remains. Several uncommitted players carry the tools and performance traits to immediately elevate a college class.

Top Uncommitted Players to Follow

Maddox Moore (OF, West Rowan HS)
Left-handed hitter with increasing athleticism over the past year. Efficient, quick bat with strong barrel feel. One of the better pure hitters still available — and a bat that could impact early.

Hodge Williams (C/UTIL, Holly Springs HS)
True utility defender. Athletic gains now make him viable in the outfield. Clean defender at 1B, and behind the plate he improves a pitching staff with advanced receiving. Offensive game plays better in live action than BP.

Caiden McNeil (OF, Kingsmen Baseball Academy)
One of the most dynamic athletes still on the board. Showed difference-making quickness at the Charlotte Fall ID. Lean frame with more strength coming — traits colleges covet.

Gibson Todd (SS/RHP, Topsail HS)
Physical, mature build with strength in the hands and quick movements. Bat leads the profile, but he’s athletic enough to stay in the middle of the field. Two-way potential.

Colby Epperly (1B/OF, Ardrey Kell HS)
Left-handed power threat. Showed the ability to handle velocity at the Senior Future Games. Increased athleticism gives him defensive versatility between 1B and OF.
