Georgia Class of 2029 Rankings: Initial Release
November 24, 2025
The time has come for the players in the 2029 class to step onto a high school baseball field in 2026. It is every young prospects goal to play varsity baseball for their school. We know that time may come sooner than others because the state of Georgia has some of the most competitive high school players in the country. The evaluation process is always fluid and on going and we know that development comes at different stages of every young players career.
This initial release will feature 100 players that we have gotten to see at our Rising Stars events over the last year as well as the tournaments at LakePoint this fall and summer. This list will expand and develop as the prospects in the 2029 class begin to emerge.
Today, we will give a breakdown of the top 10 with some insight from our scouting directors, Hudson Graham and Ian Smith. Be sure to check back tomorrow and Wednesday for new articles breaking down the entire class, plus some spring to "picks to click"

As a 2029 graduate Prep Baseball Georgia has 2 premier "Invite-Only" events that lead to the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, which take place the 1st weekend in August. Our first event will be Preseason All-State January 10th, which is where we kick off the year and build our scouting schedule for the spring season. From there we will invite players to the Top Prospect Games which will take place June 2nd and 3rd at LakePoint Sports. We will then pick the Georgia team from these 2 events + a full spring and summer evaluating during games.
The Top 10

Xavier Rodriguez C / 1B / Archer, GA / 2029Advanced is the first word that comes to mind for one of the top freshman catchers in the country. Rodriguez has had a sky-high trajectory since the first time we saw him at Rising Stars All-State last March, and has shined across every setting in the last 18 months. Standing a physical 6-foot-0, 198-pounds with an abundance of strength in the lower half, the backstop gets the front foot down quickly with a heavy, well-leveraged barrel that stays in-zone forever. Demonstrates ability to carry balls with ease to both gaps and flashed above-average to plus raw power to the pull-side. It’s easy to say the bat will carry the profile but the glove is as good as you’ll see for the class. Already showing consistent 2.00 pops or better backed by advanced blocking and receiving. Rodriguez rounds out the profile with a present above-average arm that plays up due to accuracy to all bases. From a gold with USA U15 to the top ranked player in the state, it’s been a banner year for Rodriguez and he’s just scratching the surface. - Ian Smith

Rylan Long C / OF / MT PARAN, GA / 2029It’s been nothing but impressive looks every time we see Rylan Long on the diamond. The 2025 Junior Future Gamer displays athleticism and versatility in the 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with more to project and ability to profile at multiple positions. Hit tool has shined all summer and fall while working from a higher hand set with present feel for the barrel in an uphill path. Advanced pitch recognition for the class with minimal chase in the approach that allows Long to do consistent damage in-zone. Bat speed and strength in the frame that continues to grow points to significant power potential down the line, and Long could offer a real path to a high-level hit/power combo. This is a very high-floor profile with a chance to make an impact very early in his high school career for Mt. Paran. -Ian Smith |

Carter Radics RHP / C / Wesleyan, GA / 2029The two-way profile for Radics has been nothing short of impressive throughout 2025. With an athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame, the RHP boasts whippy arm speed and easy repeatability from a three-quarters slot. The feel for the full pitch mix really stands out for Radics at a young age. Fastball has been up to 87 with bore while living in the mid-80s and showing command throughout the zone. Slider is sharp at 75-78 while creating consistent depth from a gyro shape. Shows ability to land on the outer half for both called strikes and whiffs. Changeup looks like a future above-average offering at 78-80 with tumble out of the same tunnel as the fastball. At the plate, Radics stays compact with impressive hands through the zone to stay on-plane well. Gap-to-gap approach with obvious feel for the barrel to drive balls across the field. Wesleyan has a stock of quality underclassmen ready to make an impact in the spring and Radics could be among the top of that list. - Ian Smith |

Cannon Fralick C / McIntosh High School, GA / 20296-foot-1 200-pounds. Hitter bloodlines are heavy in the Fralick family. The older brother, Chase emerged as one of the top hitters in the country his senior year and burst into the SEC earning freshman superlatives for the Auburn Tigers. Cannon has nearly surpassed Chase in size already and will look to make an impact this spring for McIntosh. The swing is smooth and connected with effortless pull side pop. Look for Fralick to find a spot in the McIntosh line up this spring. - Hudson Graham

Ryan Pearson OF / RHP / Walton, GA / 20296-foot-3 175-pounds. Predicting a mid 90’s arm at 14 doesn’t come up too often, but it is easy to see how Pearson could easily be that in a few short years. The frame is ready to build on with a smooth and athletic delivery. He was up to 91 this summer and pitched in the mid-upper 80’s against some of the top teams in the country. Not to mention he will be at Walton this spring where the prospects seem to be endless. He should get a chance to show what he can do on the mound at some point this spring for the Raiders. - Hudson Graham |

Gavin Poteet LHP / 1B / Cherokee Bluff, GA / 2029The arm talent for Poteet has been known for some time already but the feel to pitch took a big stride this year, and looks like one of the premier LHP in the class. Lean, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame holds immense projection and pairs it with a compact, repeatable arm action. Fastball jumps out of the hand in the mid-to-high 80s with heavy arm-side run that will miss barrels consistently. Slider is future put-away pitch for Poteet at 71-75 with huge horizontal break (up to 20”) and can look unhittable to LHH at times. Changeup mixed in as well in the mid-70s with ability to land early in counts for called strikes. The two-time Junior Future Gamer has a track record of pitching in big moments and could be looked upon early for a Cherokee Bluff team replacing a ton of pitching from a year ago. - Ian Smith |

Riley Shumpert OF / 3B / Mount Paran, GA / 2029Shumpert offers the type of profile you can dream on. A lean 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame with present athleticism and well-connected left handed cut. A quick toe tap trigger allows the outfielder to stay balanced through the zone with good length and ability to generate easy pull-side carry without selling out. A sub-7.0 runner already with excellent routes in the outfield and present above-average arm strength (86 OF velo) will allow Shumpert to play across the grass, with a potential for a long-term home in CF. High-level makeup with real tools across the board will make the freshman a name to know in a hurry. - Ian Smith |

Hudson Bradford C / OF / Woodstock, GA / 20295-foot-9 150-pounds. Hitters hit was a phrase we used a lot when we saw Bradford in multiple looks throughout the summer. He always seemed to be on the barrel, no matter the velo or arm he was facing. The hit tool is going to carry Bradford the next few years and with the versatility in the field he will be a key asset for Woodstock his freshman year and beyond. There is also upside on the mound with easy feel for spin at a young age. The swing at the dish is compact and powerful with minimal hand movement and a consistent lower half. We do not compare players often, but the swing is very similar to Georgia Tech commit, Isaiah Galason. Look for Bradford to continue to hit and really take off as the power comes into play. One fun note on Bradford is that during the Junior Future Games he got a chance to take the S2 Cognition and he excelled in the timing and control portion. In a data heavy industry this is an easy correlation that we can see on the field. - Hudson Graham |

Kaiden Harvey SS / RHP / Houston County, GA / 20295-foot-11 160-pounds. Houston County high school and top prospects have gone hand to hand in the state of Georgia for as long as I can remember. Coach Hopkins has another one on his hands in shortstop, Kaiden Harvey. We got a change to see him mid summer at the UGA Summer ID. The frame stands out with plenty of projection remaining. He posted a 6.86 60-yard dash with obvious athleticism. There is plenty of strength to be added at the dish, but the feel for the barrel is there with an efficient swing path. The actions are smooth and effortless with the ability to stick at SS long term. With added strength Harvey’s game is going to transform and make him a top prospect in the state for years to come. - Hudson Graham |
|
Austen Kitchings SS / C / Hebron Christian Academy, GA / 20295-foot-10 170-pounds. Athlete is the easiest way to describe Kitchings, and the genes run deep with his older brother being a Future Gamer and potential impact arm as a freshman at NC State, his sister is one of the top track athletes in the country and not to mention the dad coaching ACC football at Virginia. It is hard to ever doubt athletes like Kitching, but when he runs a 6.67 as a 14 year old you know there is more on the way. It is hard to say where he will stick in the field right now, but the swing works with easy impact. He is dynamic as they come on the bases and just put together a massive freshman year on the gridiron. - Hudson Graham |
