SoCal Uncommitted Games: Infielder Analysis

On Sunday, October 12th, the Prep Baseball California staff traveled to Cypress College in Cypress, CA for the SoCal Uncommitted Games. This event was host to over 40 prospects from California, and gave our staff a personal look at everyone in attendance.

Today, we are taking a look at all of the infielders from the day with their scouting reports and a top-10 event ranking, below.

TOP INFIELD PROSPECTS

1. Max Adams, Carlsbad (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B Versatile infielder with a balanced approach at the plate and the ability to hit to all fields.
Body: 5-10, 159-pounds. Athletic build with lean strength and room for continued physical development.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup with a slight bend in the knees. Knob angled toward the catcher with a short, controlled stride. Minimal hand movement in the load. Compact, efficient swing geared for line drives and consistent contact to all fields. 66.6 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 mph max exit velocity (81.1 avg.); 353-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Medium arm circle with smooth, controlled action. Shows modest carry on throws with occasional arm-side run.
Defense: Fluid mover with confidence fielding to the backhand side. Displays sound footwork and body control through the play.
Athletic Testing: 6.98 runner in the 60-yard dash; 26.70-inch max vertical jump.
