Florida 2028 Rankings: Post-Fall Update

Rocco Iervasi
Director of Florida Operations

As the fall season comes to a close, the baseball world turns its focus to the holidays—and then to an exciting 2026 on the horizon.

Today we’re rolling out the latest Post-Fall Player Rankings update for the Class of 2028. This rising group is about to step into the spotlight: starting August 1, 2026, college coaches can officially begin recruiting the 2028s, and programs across the country will be looking to get an early jump. At the same time, these players will have their eyes on earning an invitation to the premier showcase of the summer—the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games in July.

Here’s the updated Class of 2028 rankings—a light refresh following the fall circuit, with plenty more movement still to come.

Check out the new list below and see who’s making noise early.

Fall Risers

Caleb Hernandez SS / Doral Academy, FL / 2028

Hernandez is quickly establishing himself as the next elite shortstop to emerge from South Florida’s talent-rich pipeline. After posting a dazzling .450 average as a freshman at Doral Academy, he’s added noticeable strength and continues to fill out an already projectable 6-foot-1 frame.

Defensively, he’s an above-average shortstop with smooth actions, quick first-step reads, and plenty of arm for the left side. At the plate, the bat keeps trending up—adding easy juice as the physical maturity kicks in. The tools are loud, the upside is significant, and the arrow is pointing straight up.

Ethan Jackson SS / RHP / Eustis High School, FL / 2028

Jackson brings a loud, exciting toolset to the table with a frame that still has plenty of room to add strength and mass. The bat speed already sits above-average, and the ball explodes off the barrel with easy carry and rapidly developing power. There’s real juice here, and it’s only getting louder as he continues to fill out.

On the mound, Jackson flashes legitimate two-way potential with a fastball that currently parks in the upper 80s and should climb as the body matures. High ceiling, high follow for the 2028 class.

Jessie Feast LHP / 1B / Bishop Verot, FL / 2028

Feast is a high-upside left-hander with a lean, ultra-projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame that screams future velocity. The stuff took a clear step forward this fall: after sitting 82-84 in August, he was up to a loose 84-87 by late November with plenty more in the tank as he continues to fill out.

His slider is the money pitch right now—consistently spinning at an average of 2346 rpm with sharp, late bite that generated a ton of swing-and-miss. He also shows feel for a changeup, killing spin when needed and throwing it for strikes. Advanced pitchability and feel for a 2028 arm, paired with a fast arm stroke and a body that’s just getting started. Feast is poised for several more velocity jumps in the coming years—big follow southpaw.

Dameer Watford 1B / OF / Out of Door Academy, FL / 2028

Making the trek from Maryland to Florida this fall, Watford turned heads with the Florida Burn and established himself as one of the top left-handed bats in the 2028 class. At a lean, projectable 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, he swings it from the left side with easy rhythm and a naturally smooth path. There’s already present bat-to-ball feel, and the ball jumps to his pull side with authority—clear signs of emerging power that should only grow louder as he adds strength. High-follow lefty bat with plenty of upside still in the tank.

Evan Alexander C / 3B / True North Classical Academy, FL / 2028

Alexander stands out as one of the most projectable catchers in the 2028 class, listed at a lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 185 pounds with plenty of room to add strength. Behind the plate, he’s a soft-handed receiver with quiet actions, advanced feel for the position, and an above-average arm that produced a top pop time of 1.92 this fall.

At the plate, he’s a line-drive, gap-to-gap hitter right now with easy bat-to-ball skills and a smooth right-handed stroke. The power is still simmering, but as the frame matures and the strength comes, the pop should play louder and start carrying to both gaps and beyond. High-level defensive profile, and a bat that’s trending in the right direction—Alexander is a name to know behind the dish.
