PROSPECT PULSE - SPRING 2026 BREAKOUT BRIGADE

Ryland Peters SS / Dover Bay High School, BC / 2027

The younger of the Peters brothers, Ryland grabbed our attention at a few events this year. It's a projectable 6-foot-3,175-pound frame with a R/R profile. Currently a two-way, we saw some arm talent on display at the Baseball BC Selects Camp this summer where showed off a low-mid 80’s arm and good breaking ball. There’s plenty to like on the positional side as well with a max EV of 95.7 mph and clean actions on the dirt. Peters also notched two home runs for the Pirates as an underclassmen. One of the top players in BC’s 2027 class, Ryland Peters is one name we have circled to see early in the 2026 season.

Jorge Betancourt Machado OF / RHP / Claremont Secondary, BC / 2027

Betancourt has been a name in the 2027 class for some time now, and he continued to trend upwards during his sophomore season. The Mariners prospect showed well in multiple looks at multiple positions this year, including this uber-athletic play behind the dish.

Nico Siegenthaler RHP / 1B / Vancouver College, BC / 2027

The big right-hander from UBC grabbed our attention at the Vancouver Future Games Trials where he ran the fastball up to 87.2 mph with a big breaking ball. It’s a physical 6-foot-5, 255-pound frame that has a good chance to hold more velocity. UBC has been developing quality arms for quite some time now, so we expect to see a jump in the New Year from Siegenthaler.

Benjamin Dartnell RHP / 1B / Magee Secondary Vancouver BC, BC / 2027

Dartnell grabbed our attention when he turned in a gutsy performance against a strong Jr Blaze team in Kamloops. The UBC right-hander continued to show well in 3 subsequent looks, most recently at the BC Fall Invite where he flashed an intriguing split-finger FB. While the arsenal as a whole is still developing, we like the overall upside as a bulldog type arm with good pitchability.

Will Henzi SS / 2B / lambrick park secondary school, BC / 2027

The lone position player from BC to suit up at the Future Games this year, Henzi has shown plus defensive tools since first jumping on the scene and continued to do so throughout his sophomore season. The bat continues to trend upwards with each look with a 50% sweet spot percentage and 91.0 mph max exit velocity at the Future Games.
