TOP 15 FRESHMEN - #11-15

Crider Yarbrough 3B / RHP / South Warren High School, KY / 2029

Yarbrough stands 6’2” 178 lbs with a physical frame and plenty of projection still ahead. On the mound, he’s a loose and easy mover with quality arm speed, running the fastball up to 83 mph with an average spin rate of 2240 rpm, while also showing the ability to kill the changeup in the low-70s at 1462 rpm. A 2025 Junior Future Games participant, he’s already established himself as one of the more intriguing two-way profiles in the class. At the plate, there’s a lot to like as well, starting from a slightly crouched setup with a quiet stride, loose wrists, and consistent zone coverage. The young two-way works gap-to-gap with a contact-first approach, flashing signs of power to come as he continues to mature physically and develop in the weight room. His 66 mph bat speed points to more offensive impact still ahead. Defensively, he moves well with fluid actions on the infield, pairing body control with a quick, explosive arm from a high ¾ slot, already showing 85 mph across the infield. With a high ceiling on both sides of the ball, Yarbrough is a name to follow closely, especially as he heads into the spring after transferring to Region 4 powerhouse South Warren High School.

Sawyer Allen C / 1B / Hopkins County Central High School, KY / 2029

Allen brings a well-built, physical frame at 5’10” 178 lbs with plenty of room to continue adding strength and overall mobility. Currently ranked as the #2 backstop in the 2029 class, he shows a mature and advanced approach at the plate for his age. As an eighth grader in 2025, Allen totaled a dozen hits, scored 10 runs while driving in 5, and added a pair of doubles over 50 at-bats, as well as stealing 4 bases. More intruigingly, he drew 26 walks in just 80 plate appearances, showcasing an advanced feel for the strike zone and posting an eye-opening .525 on-base percentage. Since his debut showcase in June of 2024, Allen has continued to trend upward, making a strong impression at this year's Western KY Rising Stars before carrying that momentum into the Junior Future Games. This summer, Allen posted a 7.41 s 60 yard dash, a 73 mph catcher velocity with a 2.15 s pop time, and has driven his exit velocity up to 89.1 mph with a max distance of 325 feet, pairing that with 24.5 mph hand speed and an impressive 19.7 g of rotational acceleration. With a talented young group coming through in the always-competitive 2nd Region, expect Allen to be a staple in the Hopkins County Central lineup and provide leadership behind the dish as the Storm continues to gain varsity experience in 2026.

Neilan Bruce OF / LHP / Hopkins County Central High School, KY / 2029

Bruce stands 5’9” 167 lbs with a twitchy, athletic frame and plenty of physical upside still ahead. Offensively, he sets up with a wide, athletic base and a simple stride, working the pull-side gap for power while showing the ability to drive the ball the other way as well for consistent contact. As just an 8th grader during the 2025 season, Bruce led Hopkins County Central’s varsity squad with a .373 AVG, collecting 28 hits, 11 extra-base hits, and 16 RBI — impressive numbers for a middle schooler competing at the varsity level. On the mound, the young southpaw offers a ceiling to dream on, showing loose, athletic actions with quality arm speed, strong feel for his secondary offerings, and legitimate swing-and-miss potential. Bruce is already up to 83 mph on the fastball (2280 rpm) while spinning a sharp, high-level breaking ball in the mid-70s at 2698 rpm. The upside is high, and he’ll be a must-follow this spring as he returns to the mound for the Storm in Kentucky’s 2nd Region. Overall, Bruce projects as a premium arm in the ’29 class with real potential to emerge as a top two-way player statewide and a key piece in what is shaping up to be a deep and exciting 2029 group across the Commonwealth.

Easton Hendrickson 1B / RHP / Corbin High School, KY / 2029

At 6’0” and 198 lbs, Hendrickson brings a physical frame that already stands out among his peers in the class. Currently ranked as the #2 first baseman in class, he shows two-way ability with smooth, athletic movements for his size. Offensively, Hendrickson works with a quick-twitch leg kick that flows into a free and easy swing, bringing effortless power to all parts of the field. He’s posted a 7.76 s 60-yard dash and 73 mph infield velo across the diamond, while the bat continues to trend upwards — reaching an exit velocity of 90.8 mph with a max BP distance of 307 ft to go along with 24 mph hand speed, 75.8 mph bat speed, and 12.9 g of rotational acceleration. The physical RHP is intriguing on the mound as well, running the fastball up to 76 mph while featuring a 62–64 mph slider and 61–64 mph curveball. With another talented crop coming through Corbin this season — including multiple Junior Future Games participants — Hendrickson is positioned to be a key piece in boosting both the Redhounds’ lineup and pitching staff as they make another push toward the State Tournament in what is shaping up to be an open 13th Region.

Bret Estep SS / 2B / Corbin High School, KY / 2029

Estep stands 5’7” and 149 lbs with a twitchy, athletic frame and room to continue adding strength as he matures. Defensively, the young MIF is a smooth mover with an athletic lower half, showing an easy glove-to-hand transfer and a loose, quick arm action from a high ¾ slot. His defensive actions suggest real potential to stick in the middle infield long-term as he continues to develop physically. At the plate, he works from a well-balanced stance and displays quality bat-to-ball skills, keeping a quiet, controlled body and a level path through the zone. Estep is up to an 87 mph exit velocity, with more offensive impact to come as added strength comes. Overall, the young ‘29 brings plenty of twitch, athleticism, and projection. As he steps into his freshman year at Corbin High School, the 2025 Junior Future Games participant will look to compete for early innings in the middle infield and remains an intriguing follow in Kentucky’s 2029 class.
