Over the next several weeks, Prep Baseball Oregon will be unveiling our latest series of player rankings updates. Our final updates to the rankings lists this year are a culmination of looks across showcases, gameplay and other events throughout 2025.

Today, we begin our series of ranks updates by unveiling our first edition for the class of 2029. The Oregon '29 class features ten prospects who have stood out in the showcase and travel ball circuit, each player carrying the ability to contribute to their respective high school programs from day one.

Below is a breakdown of some of the prospects listed in the top ten. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for complete rankings content.

At the Top

Carson Noce C / OF / Crater High School, OR / 2029

One of the best talents in the PNW was seen this spring at our PNW Rising Stars event, showcasing his advanced skillset and earning the top spot in our first 2029 rankings list. Noce works from a compact, athletic frame, moving extremely well for his age in all facets of his game. At the plate, the righty sets with a slight bend over his rear knee with a quiet body pre-pitch. The base widens with a steady load and low stride, rotating with a slight uphill path through the zone. Noce consistently catches the ball out front with a firm front side at contact and a smooth, longer one-handed finish. The Crater High School product showed defensive skill all over the field but was at his best at the catcher position. Noce stuck frames with little wasted movement and showed an extremely quick catch and throw, with plus arm strength resulting in a remarkable best pop time of 1.98 seconds. Noce also pumped throws up to 81 MPH from the outfield and showed smooth actions at shortstop in an exceptional showcase look. Noce is no stranger to high level competition with his summer team and should be an immediate impact player at the high school level this spring.

Landon Elmer LHP / 1B / Sam Barlow, OR / 2029

The powerful, physically mature lefty was dominant on the mound at Junior Future Games this summer. Elmer overpowered hitters and induced plenty of swing and miss with a fastball up to 84.5 MPH, sitting more consistently at 81-82 MPH. The lefty paired a shorter slider at 68-70 MPH as his main secondary offering. Mechanically, the 6'1 prospect maintains a controlled pace through his wind, sinking deep into his lower half with a slightly closed land and a high 3/4 slot release. Offensively, Elmer showed flashes from the left side with plus batspeed generated, though he is much further along as an arm to this point. Elmer should be an immediate contributor to Barlow's rotation and can be a force from the left side this spring.

Cole Migaki 3B / RHP / Central Catholic High School, OR / 2029

The righty showcased a smooth, well-rounded skillset and was among the best players on Team PNW at this summer's Junior Future Games. Offensively, Migaki was on the barrel in-game consistently and posted exit velocities up to 88.2 MPH in BP rounds, driving balls up to 328 feet. The swing starts in a balanced stance, carrying a whippier barrel path through the zone with a longer, aggressive two-hand finish. Migaki can stick on the left side of the infield with plenty of arm strength for either 3B or SS. On the mound, Migaki showcased a workhorse-type approach, featuring a fastball up to 83.3 MPH and four different pitches mixed in overall. The diversity in his arsenal and strike throwing ability should allow him to work deep into games as a starter at the HS level. A player always impacting the game, Migaki could be a day one contributor as one of several talented underclassman at Central Catholic.

Other Names to Know

Urijah Johnson RHP / SS / Bend Senior High School, OR / 2029

A high octane arm, Johnson looks to follow a mold of taller, athletic righties to pitch out of the PNW at a high level. The Bend High School player works with a quicker-paced wind, keeping his head on target with a balanced land and a high 3/4 slot release. The arsenal consists of a FB with some cutting action apparent and a looper CB to change speeds. At the plate, the righty works through a toe-tap load into a flatter barrel path, allowing the larger frame to drive balls on a line with aggressive intent through contact. Johnson will enter 2026 as a high-upside prospect with two-way ability.

Rayden Becker OF / RHP / Ridgeview, OR / 2029

One of the most physically mature prospects in the area, Becker's athleticism and strength allow for the tools to play in a big way. Becker features a simple approach at the dish, staying fairly vertical with a slight uphill path and a shorter, tight two-handed finish. Despite some rawness in the operation, the ball jumps off the bat with plenty of slugging potential. Defensively, Becker moves quickly in either direction with longer strides in the outfield. Becker has also shown his prowess on the mound, working through a simple mechanical operation from the stretch into a 3/4 slot release. The FB has been seen in the low 80's with a breaking ball that he can add and subtract with. The physicality and loud tool set could make Becker one of the more immediate contributors out of the 2029 class this spring.

Quincy Ballard 1B / LHP / North Medford, OR / 2029

A 6'2 lefty with a lean, high-waisted frame, Ballard showed high pitchability this summer in Georgia at JFGs. The North Medford product worked from a short wind with a whippy, quick arm path and a lower 3/4 slot release resulting in some run on the fastball. Ballard worked his heater up to 82.5 MPH, sitting 78-80 across multiple innings of work. A mid-60's CH and SL rounded out his arsenal. The lefty also held his own defensively at 1B and in a corner OF spot, with a narrow, upright swing at the plate as well. The pitching has a real shot to pop with continued development, making Ballard a definite name to know in the class.
