2026 Rehobeth Rebels Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Rehobeth enters the 2026 season with momentum after a historic 2025 campaign that produced the program’s first-ever playoff appearance at the Class 6A level in its inaugural year in the classification. The Rebels finished 19–11 and reached the postseason immediately after moving up, setting the stage for continued growth as they prepare for their second season in 6A. With a veteran senior class returning and an influx of impact underclass talent, Rehobeth looks positioned to build on last year’s breakthrough and push for another postseason run in 6A Area 3.

The Rebels are led by a strong senior core headlined by C Jacob Shiver (Lurleen B. Wallace CC, 2026), a natural leader on and off the field who anchors the defense behind the plate. Fellow senior RHP Tyler Booth (Huntingdon, 2026) is a hard-worker who is expected to throw a large chunk of innings, while INF Heath Mathison (2026) provides leadership and flexibility across the infield. On the mound, RHP/OF Jackson Sexton (2026) returns as the staff’s top arm after serving as a key piece during last year’s playoff run. The senior group is rounded out by SS/RHP Dalton Fraedrich (2027), the returning shortstop from 2025, who also projects as an important bullpen arm and defensive anchor up the middle. A major source of optimism for Rehobeth lies in its rising underclassmen, starting with INF Grayson Arnette (2028), who returns after seeing time in the infield and is expected to be a top-of-the-order presence this spring. The Rebels also welcome impact newcomers in 1B/LHP Jace Dean (2028), a top-25 prospect in Alabama’s 2028 class who adds immediate upside both at the plate and on the mound, and 3B/RHP Ty Nance (2028), another two-way option who deepens the rotation and strengthens the infield. INF Rylan Kizer (2028) adds further depth to a group that already boasts multiple capable defenders across the diamond. On the mound, Rehobeth returns a versatile and layered pitching staff with the ability to mix and match based on opponent and schedule demands. Sexton (2026) leads the rotation, supported by Dean (2028), Nance (2028), and Booth (2026), while bullpen depth comes from UTL Kadon Springfield (2026), OF/RHP Tylen Caine (2027), LHP Noah Boothe (2027), and RHP Spencer Phillips (2026). That depth allows the Rebels to maintain an aggressive mindset on the mound while protecting arms over the course of a long 6A season.

After breaking through with a playoff appearance in their first year at the 6A level, Rehobeth enters 2026 with belief, depth, and a competitive edge. With senior leadership, impact underclass talent, and an aggressive, defense-first identity, the Rebels appear well positioned to push deeper into the postseason and continue establishing themselves as a force in Class 6A.
