PROSPECT PULSE - SPRING 2026 BREAKOUT BRIGADE
|
Tanner Morris C / 3B / Vauxhall Academy, AB / 2027Morris made the move to Vauxhall this fall and really stood out in our West Coast staff’s first look. It’s a physical 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame that is well suited for the catcher position. Morris took 3 healthy rounds of BP at the Rising Stars Classic in Sylvan Lake with outputs reaching triple digits. Behind the dish, Tanner recorded poptimes between 1.86-1.98. There’s present arm strength with a catcher velocity of 83 mph and infield velocity of 87 mph. Morris is one new addition to Alberta’s ranks that we are especially excited to get out and see during the spring season.

Bode Lynch C / RHP / Foothills Composite High School, AB / 2027Our staff got three looks at Lynch this year, and walked away impressed each time. It all started at Dawgs Scout Day where he ran the fastball up to 89.6 with carry through the zone and a max exit velocity of 100.7 mph. Lynch continued his sophomore campaign with two quality starts at the Best of the West and Langley Invitational where he showed off an improved breaking ball with plus potential. It’s a sturdy 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame with a repeatable delivery and quiet confidence on the mound. Look for Lynch to take a jump heading into his second year with the Dawgs.

Xavier Lampshire OF / 3B / Allendale Junior High, AB / 2027Athletic with present strength out of a lean 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame. The switch-hitter showed well twice during the preseason and took quality at-bats with a hard hit ball and a stolen base when we checked up on him in late May. Lampshire displays a fluid stroke and line drive approach from both sides of the plate with a peak EV of 97.6 mph. A mature worker with hitterish tendencies, don't be suprised to see Lampshire leading the ATHX Redhawks offensively come spring.

Kruise McGeough SS / RHP / St. Joseph High School, AB / 2027We got eyes on McGeough multiple times this year and he continued to tick upwards each time. The lean 6-foot-1,165-pound middle-infielder was a standout at the Sylvan Lake Classic this fall where he posted a max exit velocity of 99.8 mph with an infield velocity of 87 mph and backed it up in gameplay. With a strong arm and clean actions on the dirt, McGeough has a real chance to stick up the middle and seems to be just one big offseason away from a big breakout campaign.

Tyson Dyck RHP / 3B / Summit High School, AB / 2027Dyck represented Prep Baseball Canada at the Future Games this summer where he ran his fastball up to 88 to btoh sides of the plate and showed a slider and changeup that tunneled well off the heater. The build is extremely wiry with a high waist and plenty of projection, checking in at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. Although Dyck is already one of the top '27 arms in the Province, it's easy to see a jump coming in the near future, earning him a spot on this list.
