Prep Baseball South Carolina hosted its Freshman Free Showcase on November 2nd at Lexington High School in Lexington, SC featuring standout talent from the 2029 graduating class.
The event was the first of its kind offering free registrations to its first 10 sign ups in addtion to lower cost options than a typical Prep Baseball ID. The focus of this event was to discover more talent in our state's freshman class as they enter the high school ranks. During the event, position players participated in a professional-style workout that included a comprehensive defensive evaluation. Infielders and outfielders fielded ground balls and made throws, with arm strength recorded using a Stalker radar gun. Catchers executed throws to second base, with both arm strength and pop times measured.
Hitters received ball flight data using TrackMan recorded during BP. Speed and explosiveness were assessed through Vald Performance lasers, capturing 10-30-60-yard sprint splits.
Pitchers threw a controlled bullpen session, where each pitch was tracked by TrackMan to analyze ball movement and overall performance.
Below, we highlight the top performers across select categories from the event.
