Uncommitted Seniors
*list is indicative of our board internally, not the published list from our pre-fall update*
Peter Ward RHP / Zionsville, IN / 2026+ Shoots to the top-ranked arm and overall player in the class on our board internally after a breakout fall. 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with a wiry, athletic look. Up to 93 (88-91 settle) on a couple occasions this fall after missing much of the summer due to injury - was cemented as a top of the rotation piece for Zionsville this spring (1-0, 16.1 IP, 29 K, 9 BB, 7 H, 1.71 ERA) prior to injury. Arsenal includes a low-70s CB and mid-70s CH. |
Trent Gill SS / Valparaiso, IN / 2026+ The top-ranked position player on our board. Athletic SS standing at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a well-rounded toolset. Chance to stick at SS long term with rangy, sure handed nature and a mid-80s arm across. Offensively, deploys a short, quick, right-handed stroke that has produced triple digit showcase exits & we have a track record on him of in-game production. Helped lead Valparaiso to a 4A State Title in 2025 as the everyday SS on that squad. |
Jake Mazzier RHP / Gibson southern, IN / 2026+ Senior Future Games standout with an athletic, 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Fast arm brings a swing-and-miss two-pitch mix - up to 90.5 at LakePoint while holding upper-80s routinely. Spins a mid-70s breaking ball that will get up into the 26-2700 range and holds out-pitch projections at the next level. |
Jerron Miles SS / Silver Creek High School, IN / 2026+ Long-limbed, left-side infielder standing at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. Swings a whippy left-handed barrel that shows some impact, along with a frame that suggests more power is on the way. Athlete who moves with fluid patterns. |
Max Shreiner C / Elkhart High School, IN / 2026+ Big riser throughout 2025 - beginning with a breakout spring where he finished tied for the state lead in homers. Strong, compact, 6-foot, 205-pound frame. Showed well on the summer and fall circuits, especially with the bat. Saw multiple triple digit in-game exits that paired with productive looks seemingly everytime a staff member got eyes on him. Throws very well, with a chance to polish as a receiver. Projects as a middle of the order bat at the next level. |
Aiden Phillips SS / Homestead Senior High School, IN / 2026+ 6-foot-3, 185-pound infielder with some of the loudest tools amongst uncommitted seniors in Indiana. Looks the part in the uniform, pairing with solid run times that have been into the 6.9 range in the sixty. Takes aggressive hacks from the right-side with present XBH power, also 101+ off the bat in showcase. Up to 86 across the diamond, profiling best as a 3B/2B at the college level. |
Bennett Hartford 3B / Penn High School, IN / 2026+ Strong, 6-foot, 200-pounder with a big track record of success at the dish. Had a big spring for Penn HS, has been up to 104-plus off the bat in showcase, and moves well for his frame with a recorded sixty of 6.90. The bat is loud and carries the profile, but he does show sure-handed abilities at the hot corner with average arm strength across. |
Chase Nickols 3B / Cathedral, IN / 2026+ A riser throughout the summer and fall circuits, Nickols hangs his hat on one of the better hit tools on this list, and holds a lean, athletic, 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame that has a chance to pack on strength still. 6.9 runner that is beginning to tap into some game power. Profiles as a bat-first, utility-type at the next level with the athleticism to play CINF, 2B, and COF. |
Harrison Haq RHP / Penn, IN / 2026+ Physical, 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-hander who we've had up to 90 mph in showcase. Clean arm with fastball being best pitch and consistently playing in the mid-to-upper 80s. Secondaries includes a mid-to-upper 70s SLV and low-80s CH. |
Riley Matlock C / Southport High School, IN / 2026+ Strong, 5-foot-11, 185-pound backstop who has a strong track record of hitting. Has put together a couple strong seasons for Southport HS, while also finding success on the summer circuit in 2025. Boasts showcase exits near triple digits, with a 6.93 60 time to pair. Above average thrower with solid average receiving ability behind the dish. Projects to be a middle of the order type bat at the next level. |
Dennis (DJ) Malloy SS / RHP / Valparaiso, IN / 2026+ True two-way type prospect who provides a steady presence in the MIF and on the bump. Arm is his best tool, reaching 89 across the diamond along with consistent mid-80s velos on the hill. Short, fast arm provides some deception - backspins the fastball well to induce carry and play it above its velocity. Spins a sharp slider in the mid-70s and will show an upper-70s change, as well. Offensively, has been 97-plus off the bat with a shorter, quick swing that plays more with a line drive approach in-game. |
Luke Goben OF / Andrean, IN / 2026+ Compact, athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with well-proportioned strength. Goben shows a balanced, connected operation from the left side — short stride, tight hand load, and a fast, on-plane bat that consistently produces quality contact to all fields. There’s sneaky strength in the barrel with a 94 mph exit, pointing to gap-to-gap impact that should continue to tick up as he matures. A 6.85 runner whose speed plays even better in game — covering ground efficiently with clean routes and instincts in the outfield. |
Ben Pickering RHP / C / Jefferson High School, IN / 2026+ Physical, 6-foot-1, 225-pound right-hander with advanced arm strength, fastball has reached 92 in showcase on a couple different occasions. Arsenal includes a mid 70s SL and upper 70s CH, as well. Doubles as a RHH C with the arm strength translating to the crouch, along with some bat strength at the dish. |
Gavin Brannon RHP / Connersville Sr High School, IN / 2026+ Quality mover with some projection to his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. Fastball plays steady in the mid-80s and reached 89 on the circuit this summer. Heater plays w/ ride/run and will miss bats, with likely some more in the tank as he matures. Shows a fringe average slider in the mid-70s, a pitch that we have seen him control consistently. Has logged 90 innings for Connersville over the past two springs, walking just 63, while collecting 118 strikeouts. |
Nolan Schickel OF / Evansville Mater Dei, IN / 2026+ Wiry, 6-foot-1, 160-pound outfielder from Evansville with a hit tool that has stood out over the course of looks the past two years. Short, direct stroke includes twitch that leads to some gap power, more on the way likely with added strength. Led Mater Dei to a 2A State Championship appearance in 2025, maintaining a north-of .300 average with 10 XBH. At least an above average runner with a chance for that tool to tick to plus down the road. |
Tyler Hughes 2B / OF / Zionsville Community High School, IN / 2026+ Utility-type that carries a strong LH hit tool which leads the profile. Short, direct swing with plenty of barrel feel. 6.95 runner in June, that tool plays a tick higher between the lines. Hit .313 for Zionsville last spring with 6 2B, 6 3B, and 1 HR. Profiles best as a bat-first 2B/LF type. |
David Pina C / Fishers High School, IN / 2026+ One, if not the best, receiver amongst the group of uncommitted catchers on our board. Soft hands with athletic/mobile hips, throws at an above average clip as well (80 mph from crouch 3/3/24). Holds present strength in a compact, 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Offensively, Pina shows bat speed with above average impact in his right-handed swing. Maintains rhythm throughout the operation with easy above average contact skills. |
Brett Huffman OF / Delphi Community High School, IN / 2026+ Huffman brings a quality toolset to the table (6.89 60, 99 exits, 89 OF arm) that coupled with strong in-game production last spring, landing him on our 2A All-State team following the 2025 season. He stands at 6-foot, 165-pounds with twitch obvious in the movement patterns. L/L OF delivers an on-plane barrel with some aggressiveness to his hacks. Holds some two-way upside, has reached into the mid-80s on the bump from the left side. |
Kye Jacobs SS / CF / Clinton Prairie Elementary School, IN / 2026+ A high-IQ gamer that earned 1A All-State honors as a junior. The feet are the most impactful tool on his card, burning into the 6.6s in the 60, and he uses it on the dirt and basepaths (26 SB as JR). Sure handed, in-control, fundamental actions on the dirt with an 89 mph arm to pair, can slide out to CF too. Offensively, Jacobs is a switch-hitter that profiles more at the top of the lineup. There is some slap to the presentation of the barrel from the left side, while the right side shows a bit more impact (97+ exits). |
Colton Watts RHP / William Henry Harrison High School, IN / 2026+ Watts offers a unique, over-the-top arm slot that helps to create ride on an upper-80s fastball that we've had up to 89. His mid-70s curveball works top-to-bottom to play off the high-ride heater and his 79-80 CH offers big arm-side tilt and run. Higher-intent operation with some quirk to the arm action. Outlier slot and hulking, 6-foot-4, 205 lb frame stand out most as he profiles as a tough-look RP. |
