Oregon Uncommitted Spotlight - '27 C Ramsey Prentice

Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. This week, we spotlight '27 C Ramsey Prentice. The backstop from Ida B. Wells HS was seen most recently at the Portland Summer ID this June.
An athletic prospect with some bat to ball skill from the left side, Prentice's showcase was highlighted by a 6.77 60-yard dash time and batted balls hit up to 357 feet. Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including scouting reports and video from the event.

Hit: LHH. Quiet pre-pitch with slightly open lower half. Barrel still and stacked vertically over rear shoulder. Minimal hand retraction with hovering leg lift load. Weight stays stacked on back side through contact with a firm front side at contact. Meets ball out front with pull-oriented approach shown.
