Crushers Select Scout Day – Event Rewind

The Crushers Select Scout Day took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill, NC. The event provided players the opportunity to work out alongside their organization in a structured, pro-style setting designed to gather verified data and key performance metrics.

Players participated in multiple rounds of batting practice, a defensive workout, and bullpens for pitchers—allowing Prep Baseball scouts and organizational staff to evaluate each athlete’s current tools and development progress. The focus on the Scout Day focused on capturing core analytics and on-field evaluations that reflect game-ready ability.

This blog series will spotlight the top performers from the Crushers Select Scout Day, featuring players who impressed during the workout and showed traits that project continued growth within the organization.

TOP 60-YARD DASH

Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. We implemented timing gates at the 10-yard split, to capture athletes’ quickness, explosiveness and reaction time. From there, we will calculate an athlete’s top-end speed in miles per hour. While the measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard split has started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.
