The 14th annual Future Games took place on July 22-27 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2026 and 2027 participated in one of the most popular events each year.

For the first time ever, the state of California brought two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal.

We caught up with some of the state's standout performers to hear about their highlights on the weekend, overall experience at LakePoint, and what their recruitment process has looked like since the August 1st deadline has been reached.

Parker Leoff, 2027, SS/2B, Huntington Beach

Leoff played his sophomore season at Redondo Union. There, the righty absolutely mashed, earning him Second Team All-Area honors. Leoff hit to the tune of a .356 average and a 1.052 OPS. Leoff also showed off his power throughout the season, tallying nine extra base hits, three of which came via the long ball.

Prep Baseball CA: What were your thoughts on being part of Team California, and what stood out about being among the best of the best in the region and the state?
Leoff: Being part of that roster with so many talented players was awesome. Some of them I already knew from playing before, and some I didn’t. Over that weekend, we all got really close, and I still talk to those guys today. It was awesome.
Prep Baseball CA: Talk about your mindset going into the weekend. What were you telling yourself when you touched down at LakePoint? And what advice would you give to a future Future Gamer?
Leoff: When you walk around and see all these top programs, you’re like, “That’s this guy from this college, this is crazy.” You might get a little intimidated, but you have to know not to change who you are because of them. They want to see what you do. Do all the little stuff right, such as always hustling on and off the field and picking up your teammates. The timing of the event is perfect, too, because two weeks after that, schools can start talking to you, so you will be fresh on their minds. It’s awesome.
Prep Baseball CA: What were some of your Future Games highlights, and assess your overall performance on the weekend?
Leoff: I got a single in my first at-bat off a guy throwing 95, so that was good. It kind of got me going and let everything else fall into place. The rest of the weekend went pretty well. We didn’t really win as a team, but we had a great time and competed as best as we could.
Prep Baseball CA: What was your first impression when you arrived and saw all the college coaches and scouts? What emotions were running through your head?
Leoff: It was really exciting. I remember telling myself, "I get to play in front of this. This is what I want. I came here for this." I was looking forward to playing the second I got there.

Prep Baseball CA: What has your recruitment process been like now that August 1 has passed and coaches can contact you?
Leoff: It's been pretty cool. It’s something I dreamed about as a kid, and now that it’s real, it’s awesome. I’m super grateful. It’s a testament to the hard work I’ve put in.
On November 13th, Leoff took to social media to announce his commitment to UCLA.
Leoff, the No. 4 ranked player in the state in the Class of 2027, hopes to continue his success after an impressive weekend at LakePoint into a strong junior season playing for a new school (Huntington Beach), and beyond at UCLA.
